The plot thickens...the guy who broke the "Bill flew to NY" just posted :

"Cousin of a friend shared first-class cabin with him. She's a big Stones fan and knew this was a Big Deal. We shall see."

I guess stranger things have happened and the Stones can make it rain (or actually Keith used to have a cane to stop the rain) so maybe they made him an offer he couldn't refuse...

My rehearsal listening friends are headed to the East Coast now. Gig of a half dozen new releases in front of band and record label invitees and fans rumored.

Me further speculating: Monday Tuesday rehearsals limited to a few new songs for a Thursday prerelease gig makes sense. Maybe songs live on Jimmy Fallon though record label sponsored short gig and party at small venue mentioned.

Since the Stones are promoted by AEG they are likely going to play one of their venues. There is no way they play a Live Nation venue. That being said my guess is either Terminal 5 or Webster Hall. If I had to go with one, it would be Webster Hall.

Fear of flying can often be cured in a single session (I’ve done it s couple of times) so that wouldn’t have to be an issue if Bill decided he wanted to go.

Don’t think they are going to do something live but if they were it would be cool with a public venue in NY winking smiley

Yes that was apparently the main problem in 2012 when he refused to go to NY after his London appearances. This time with no lengthy rehearsals/contract with Darryl it wouldn't be a problem.

They might have to spruce up his "look" though...he's been looking a bit "grand fatherly" for the past decade+, unlike the "other lot" ;-)

I would say there is zero chance of Bill playing at the gig.

If Darryl isn’t available then I would think Andrew Watt would handle bass.

If the gig even happens……

is there any proof that he was on the plane? Or are there at least two independent sources…?

I believe so far there's only one source to the Wyman story. It's user "vcpj" on the Steve Hoffman forum.

And a "cousin of a friend" of that user supposedly was on the plane.

What I would like to know is when Bill last flew...

When confirming he'd recorded a bass part for the new album he said he hadn't flown "in decades"...I guess the last time he flew for sure would have been in 1990.

On the other hand like he's quipped a few times over the years, "never let the truth get in the way of a good story" so who knows...

I have helped other people Cure their fear of flying in a single session, twice it took two sessions. I think Paul McKenna has demonstrated it on tv as well, or maybe it was at a workshop,

Or maybe they just drugged him and got him on the plane ;-)

Wouldn’t it be wild if Bill was there and just flat out said he has rejoined the Stones?

Isn't there a Seinfeld episode where George quits his job, regrets it, and just shows up to work the next day? Bill could try that.

I always wondered how he got to the US when he toured there with the Rhythm Kings in 2001. By cruise ship?

We don’t even know that it was actually him on the plane. I remember years ago talking to a guy at work who was telling me about an interview he’d seen on the tv the night before with Bill Wyman - the interview was actually with Keith. So maybe this cousin of a friend was sitting on the plane next to Ronnie and, not being real Stones fan, just said it was Bill Wyman because that was the only name they could remember….
