I would have loved seeing Living Colour in 1989

Saw them open in Montreal. The sound was so bad, it was just a cacophony of echo. Watched them, but certainly didn't hear them.

The Stones sounded fine, of course.[/quote]

I went to both shows in Vancouver & had the opportunity to talk to Vernon Reid after the first one. Told him about the sound issue & he wasn't happy. He must've raised a little hell because it was much better the second night.

Stones don’t need a opening act thank you.

That’s why you don’t see bootlegs of BC Place as sound sucks big time.

I think it depends on the artist and their sound equipment as well as where you're sitting in the stadium. AC/DC was terrible the last 2 times they've been here but McCartney and Elton John sounded pretty decent.

How about Stevie Wonder

Lady Gaga would be my pick as an opening act. She did sing with the Stones on Sweet Sounds of Heaven. I am surprised no one has mentioned her name. She is truly a great singer, having performed duets with Tony Bennett. She could also join the band for at least one number, such as SSOH. She could easily hit the high notes on Gimme Shelter too.

Saw The Black Crowes support The Stones at Wembley, London, '95.

I have seen them about 7 times, and they definitely played within themselves and very chilled, which I've always thought was as a mark of respect.

Also, saw them support Page & Plant few days earlier in Glasgow.

A great week !!

Dirty Honey would be amazing, it was close earlier, they have opened for Guns, Black Crowes and Kiss. Such a great rock’n roll live band (they are my second favorite band to see live now) and they love the Stones obviously.

I'm sure Ghost Hounds will be back to play their staid, soulless rock and roll. I've heard openers PAY the Stones in exchange for the exposure and that the leader of Ghosthounds (the older guy on keyboards at stage right) is some retired software developer with mega-bucks who hired a band straight out of central casting so as to live out his rock and roll fantasies. Anybody else heard this?

Yes. There have been many discussions about Ghost Hounds here.

I would like to see some 'young' (such a relative term) bands that are carrying on some of the music we seem to be drawn to:

The Nude Party (https://youtu.be/IGkN3iXeHr4?si=W2D0isIie1puaZfb)
The Heavy Heavy
Mooon (yes three 'o'....new album being released)

Please no more Ghost Hounds....just a bar cover band would be better.

Most of the shows look to be selling well. No real need to add a second expensive draw. Help out quality up and coming bands.

Whiskey Myers

Those would be my picks.

No one mentioned her name because she is a stadium headliner in her own right.

At least not a category 1. No risk of having the show stolen.

I got a text today, with the support act for Phoenix on May 7:

“CARIN LEÓN”

No clue who that is, but any official news about other venues’ support acts yet?

"Who that is" is a Mexican singer-songwriter who's fairly new on the scene. Could be cool. Bring your Stetson.

I’m not even going to the Phoenix show. I helped a friend get Lucky Dips there. My show is Orlando on June 3. Very curious who’s opening there. I assume info should be forthcoming soon about all venues.

Brigitte Calls Me Baby
Edit: The platform won't allow the link for some reason. (Bad gateway, host error.)
Hop over to Youtube find their Oct 3, 2023 posted performance of "Impressively Average"

But that would be if they were interested in giving a boost to a promising new rock band. Which they're not. They're interested in the cold hard cash. Mick will sell gigs to the oligarch again, most likely.

I saw the Corrs years ago in DC, they were as good as the stones, got a standing ovation. I understand they are back together and touring in the UK, is that true.
