It will be a great album. They know it.

We should believe in them. They want the end of their career to be as great as their start.

Another album to follow next year with a tour in Europe.

It will be a good album. Eclectic, catchy and really enjoyable to listen to.
But let's leave "great" to their classics!

I'd say the biggest hits were in the 60s Keith was the major contributer in those days, then arguably their best album Exile On Main Street is mostly Keith. So I'd say Keith was king when it was a phenomenon.
I don't think Mick could barely play guitar in the 60s.

Fortunately what you think is wrong.

Especially since Keith didn't come up with Brown Sugar.

Show me Mick playing that beautiful guitar interplay at the intro.

Mick created the melody and wrote lyrics. However, it was Keith's open-g riff that shaped the sound of the track. Undoubtedly, it's Mick's song, but Keith helped make it what it is.

"Let's face it Keith has always been the more talented one creatively as far as songwriting goes"

This has now been debunked but I think everyone will agree that Keith is the better musician, always looking for subtle chords and arrangements when Mick generally seems happy with straightforward progressions. It's well summed up in the Mixed Emotions "writing session" where you see Mick in a hurry to finish off the song and Keith senses it needs something more and spends time working on it.

Oh so you and your chums are fact checkers now, Gimme Shelter has been debunked, no point in having a conversation now, Mick Jagger proved he is a the major writing contributer when he released Let's Work, Sympathy didn't start as a Samba, all we needed was Micks lyrics, Keith songwriting wasn't as important.
Thanks for showing me how it all works guys.

Mick playing an early version for Ike and Tina here: [www.youtube.com]

I love Keith and he definitely helped tidy Brown Sugar, but I do think Mick gets the credit for that one. 35 seconds in. Keith also says as much here:

Sounds like Mick has shagged your old lady.

Seriously, I wonder when you Keithettes will grow up to understand that The Rolling Stones is something more than constant Mick vs. Keith dick contest. You are just so damn predictable and boring. Not to mention childish.

There is a new ROLLING STONES album coming on, if you haven't noticed? And this thread is about that.

An advice: start your own thread in which you can state why Keith Richards is so much better (in your world) than Mick Jagger. Probably you could scream all your Jagger bitterness/hatred/angst there, if BV tolerates.

Yes Brown Sugar is mostly Micks I'm not disputing that i was talking about the others, more than I can be bothered to list where Keith was the main collaborator and Keith was obviously generous with his Jagger/Richards sharing the credits.

If you listen to Keith in that interview he goes on to say that Brown Sugar was pretty much the first one Mick wrote mostly on his own.
That goes along with my previous post, the 60s albums were mostly down to Keith musically musician wise, Mick did lots of lyrics.

For those wanting to continue the discussion about the track Mick Jagger sketched in Australia over 54 years ago, and the Stones released over 52 years ago with that stunning intro, there is a good thread for that: [iorr.org]

Does that E under Bite My Head Off mean that the lyrics are explicit?

Yes - let the pointer hover over the E symbol. The explicit lyrics of 'Bite My Head Off' can be found here: [iorr.org] .

Btw: no signs that the second single would be released on 22-Sep-2023.

What does the E mean on Spotify? On Spotify, some of the songs are marked with an “E”, which means that the song contains “Explicit content” i.e., coarse lyrics. In lyrics marked with E, for example, it is sung about the use of drugs or that one is looking for casual sex. Or that you sell drugs in exchange for sex

Why would you expect a single release on Friday? I think most if not all Stones Singles since Blue and Lonesome have been released on Wednesday.

I think the co-ops with Sir Elton, Sir Paul and Lady Gaga is clever work because a) it broadens the public b) those names do better on the charts.
