To me, One More Shot, just sounds more Stonesy than Doom & Gloom. Just listened to em back to back, and yeah, it's a great song. Loooooooooooove that riff.

I love them both. But if I had to pick one, I would pick OMS too.

DRIVING ME TOO HARD is another one.

That's a 12 track album with 3 songs co-written with Andrew Watt.

"tell me straight" sounds like it could be the title to the "really wanna tell the truth" snippet mick shared some years ago

as for the other snippets

"live by the sword" sounds right for "pride comes before the fall"

and "bite my head off" sounds right for the song used in the video mick used to promote his line of harmonicas

also not sure how i feel about about andrew watt writing songs with mick and keith

don't suppose they forgot to add the s at the end of watt did they?winking smiley

Could be one of the reasons Keith was having issues with Andrew Watt.

If Watt gets credits, my guess is that Keith will insist that Steve does too.

The Keith-Andrew Watt clash, though plausible, is only rumor or speculation. It is interesting that there are no Matt Clifford or Steve Jordan writing credits. I'll be curious to see if there is any sort of arrangement or production credit for them.

Most of those smell like working titles to me. I’d be surprised if any of them made it to the finish line. But maybe the songs (and the credits) did.

"Morning Joe Cues" must be about the insanity of current American politics, "Morning Joe" being the daily news show on MSNBC.

Great detective work on the titles!

So "Hackney Diamonds" will not be one, I guess.

I don't like Andrew Watt's production of Iggy's last album.
The rockers sound lame, 90's guitar rock sound......I hope Keith didn't let him do that kind of thing with his riff driven songs.

Hackney diamonds is an old and rarely used cockney slang for ‘broken glass’ - rough area (previously) and not affluent - hence smash glass.

So let me throw that pebble into the thought puddle!

And it’s a perfect title.rough neighborhood, smashed glass, broken windows.
And they do it - every -fckng-time.
Get it almost there and crap themselves- WTF is that artwork,I think we all stopped doing acid a long time ago.
The girl is talented and I’m sure she would fit right in working with Carlos Santana.

So I got an album title so rough and ready it’s got me thinking about the back cover of through the past darkly and Elton and Paulie are on it?
Two of the most fey, weak, lame characters in the music business.

As much as I beef with the Keith heads I see their point sometimes,I blame Jagger for this shit.the guest stars, the trendy artist. It’s garbage. Can we for once just cut the shit and have a real Stones album?

I like the titles and the album titles. The guerilla marketing is cool too. The band name and logo In shattered glass is cool too. Not a fan of the other artworks though.

Shaping up nicely

Wasn't it the 17th?

The advertisement in Hackney Gazette appeared on 17th August, but the Wikipedia entry originally said 22nd August.

The hints to this newspaper-ad came on 21st August - [iorr.org] . The reports about the leaked artworks appeared also on that date - [iorr.org] .

For the history books, it would be interesting to know exactly when, where & how the album artworks were leaked.

I wonder that too! The "when" part especially. The "where and how" are easier, it simply was the artist's portfolio on that website [www.hpluscreative.com]

Paulina Almira's page is still there [www.hpluscreative.com]

But nothing under "select projects" relating to the Stones.

Seems the photos weren't online long enough to have been cached by any of the search engines. Haven't found an archive entry for that link on Wayback Machine.

Georgelicks has not posted anything about a September date in this thread.

I would guess that the idea of a September date for the/an announcement comes straight from the ad in the Hackney Gazette.
Georgelicks named two dates in Autumn which he argued were the most appropriate businesswise in view of other (already known) release dates in Autumn.

But regarding Hackney specialists in glass repair one should be careful with particular dates anyway as they are available 24 hours 7 days a week winking smiley

Hackney Glass 24/7

They don’t international repair as it seem to me….. smiling bouncing smiley

It seems that hints to the artworks (7 images) were posted too on 21-Aug-2023 (not later than 1:35pm EDT) on the Steve Hoffman Music Forum (by 'Uncle Miles'). Looks like it were links which led to artist Paulina Almira on the H+ Creative website. But then there were complaints by Universal Music about that and links plus content were removed.

Btw: the time zone of the Steve Hoffman Music Forum seems to be United States, Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4). The timestamp 1:20pm there equals 19:20 in Central Europe (CEST, UTC +2).
Twitter & Facebook display in the web browser the local time of the reader, so the tweet of the newspaper-ad equals 17:57 in Central Europe.

October almost seems too soon. I would think a single sometime in September to be followed by the album in November.

Before it got taken down on the Steve Hoffman forum, someone cut and pasted a few sentences from the album design website that said it would be announced in September and released in october.

This dude reads itvideo: [www.youtube.com]

October 21? I don't think an album will be released on a Saturday...

?

He says “October 2023”

Edit: here is the text that was orignally cut and pasted from the album designer’s website:
ROLLING STONES

CREATIVE: Paulina Almira

CLIENT: Rolling Stones
ROLE: 2D Illustration, Album Design

Rolling Stones brand new studio album Hackney Diamonds
To be announced Sept 2023 & Released Oct 2023 - The overriding theme of the album is based on relationships, with ongoing references of broken glass and harsh elements

Thinking about how some of the titles on the ASCAP website seems to match with the description of the record as referencing "relationships and harsh elements". Also, "Dreamy Skies" and "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" makes me think about Charlie.

Yes, Irix, that would seem to be the case. Uncle Miles was fast enough to find the art in the first place. (No idea if they just found it by doing a search or whether they knew something...)

The photos obviously started making the rounds amongst fans especially on websites such as this, Rocks Off and Shidoobee.

There were at least seven photos on the H+ Creative site. I managed to get a screen grab overview before they pulled the plug on them.

There was also a gif (the dagger punching the heart, IIRC). I've read somewhere it would be a lenticular.
