Just ordered the Out Of Our Heads (translucent teal).

I familiair with the press release. But apparently some albums get the reissue treatment without being mentioned in the press release. It seems TSMR, BB are sold with a new barcode number, fitting in the new reissue numbers. So a bit of a mess marketing wise.

Maybe ABKCO changed their re-release plans when they heard that the recordings of the new studio album were finished.

So are these reprints of existing versions, or are they 'new' versions (as in "part of the rerelease series")? When I look on Discogs at the Beggars banquet version you posted here (018771204817), there are in fact two variants of it. The US version (August 2022 according to Discogs) and a EU version (September 2023). This makes it all even more confusing winking smiley

[ABKCO.com] wrote on 9-Jun-2023: "These 16 vinyl reissues will join The Rolling Stones back catalog that ABKCO has long kept in print".
The 9 releases listed above are part of the long-term back catalog (mostly added in 2022) while the other 16 albums will be reissued in 2023-2024.

The US version (August 2022 according to Discogs) and a EU version (September 2023).

They have the same (bar)code: 018771204817 - but there're differences (e.g. the labels) - [www.Discogs.com] , [www.Discogs.com] . Maybe the US-version is pressed in North America while the EU-version is pressed in Europe. That's also the case with the 'marble' RSD 2023 version with differences between the Canadian/German pressing (but they have the same barcode) - [iorr.org] .

So these 9 releases are part of the "back catalogue, that ABKCO has still in print". So why new versions (2022) with new (bar)codes? In my eyes, these are also reissues. What makes them different than the officially 16 announced reissues?

Dunno, cannot help with these questions.

ABKCO did on 13-Oct-2023 also a digital release of 'Stray Cat Blues' on streaming/download services - [iorr.org] .
It was a 'silent' release - nothing was mentioned by ABKCO on their website or their social media. Who knows what ABKCO has in mind.

it's damn complicated and diffuse. For serious collectors it must be horrible to figure out which is which. I'm just curious and was orientating if I want to buy these reissues. They only make it damn hard to understand what is a reissue and what is not. Thanks anyway.

The above described different pressings of the 'Beggars Banquet' 2023 RSD release are a good example for that. As far as I know there was no mention in advance that there'll be two different pressings.

Let It Bleed - black vinyl - 8584-1 - the Sound of Vinyl - made in EU - 018771858416, there is also one from the US, see my photos.
I bought it this summer at Amazon US, actually it is the 50th Anniversary edition, all three, "Sound Of Vinyl, Amzon US and 50th Anniversary have the same label number and barcode.
How to recognize a US release from ABKCO is also easy, the back of the inner sleeve is higher than the front.

Furthermore, last summer I also purchased Their Satanic Majesties Request from Amazon US.
Label number NPS-2 and barcode 018771 20821 1, the inner sleeve high back is a US release, release date Sep 26, 2022.

Curious - I know the Czech Republic is where a lot of European records are pressed these days, but does anyone know where US records are pressed? I'm assuming it's somewhere here??

More Hot Rocks - Made in USA - w/ inner sleeves - cat. no. 2121-1 - barcode 0 1877121211 9

Apart from RSD editions that are limited and surely not long kept in print, all I've been able to track down is
Aftermath - black vinyl - may be the one issued this year?
Between The Buttons - maybe the one issued this year?
Their Satanic Majesties Request - black vinyl - NPS-2 - FOC 3D - made in EU - 018771849612
Let It Bleed - black vinyl - 8584-1 - the Sound of Vinyl - made in EU - 018771858416

Archivist's Corner
1. records that will be available in the Netherlands in September seem to be exactly the same of those already available in the USA/EU market
2. records 'made in EU' seem not be available as 'made in USA'
3. records 'made in the USA' seem not to be available as 'made in the EU'
4. the azure OOOH is MONO and I'm afraid it'll be off the 'In Mono' re-issue. I will tell, when in my collection
5. the black Flowers is from the EU, the orange Flowers is made in the USA: two different pressings
6. Goldmine's 'Flowers' has an own barcode, uses the same covers of the black copies and has no cat. number on labels
7. On rear of ENHM, 'Tell Me' is now credited to Jagger/Richards in contrast with old Jagger/Richard credits
8. It's the first time that ENHM is issued with the insert in a cover that does not mention its presence
9. Special editions for Goldmine and Amazon come with no cat. number on labels
10. 12x5 and GYYYO are 2023 pressings, but they come in the covers that were used in 2003 for the limited editions in clear vinyl + a sticker with new cat.no. and new barcode. Labels are the picture version of 2003, but missing the DSD logo (has for the limited clear vinyls)

@1963luca0: can you post a picture of the text on the spines of all the new ABKCO releases you own? I'm curious how the catalogue numbers are printed and how US versions differ from European releases spine-wise.

Generally, US and Eu copies have very similar covers that present the cat. no. on top side of the spine and ABKCO placed at the bottom of the spine.

Today, I got the olive green Big Hits with slipmat.
It's mono and still haven't checked the colour of the vinyl of the Big Hits included in the In Mono box rerelease. If it was olive green they might be the same record.

This Big Hits has two stickers hype on front, new dedicated barcode on rear.
The presence of the slipmat is not mentioned anywhere.

Basically the 2016 box-internal 'Stray Cats' is a 'In Mono' compilation. Maybe ABKCO has discovered now a new sales idea: re-releasing all compilations also in Mono .... maybe even (More) Hot Rocks then?
