Sad news - took my mum (then aged 70) to see him at Bridgewater hall in Manchester about 12 years ago - really good voice even in his 80s, even sang a bit without amps to demonstrate acoustics of the venue - a fabulous artist

Yes, very sad news.
I also took my mom to see him back in the '90's as she had been a big fan of his for many years.
He was still accompanied by his longtime piano player/collaborator Ralph Sharon who he had worked with for decades.
Anyhow, while I went to the show knowing my mom was a huge fan, I left the show a huge fan myself - the performance was very moving.
Such a great talent and nice guy. An American treasure. A world treasure.
RIP Tony Bennet, and thank you for the decades of precious memories.

What a wonderful heartfelt tribute to Mister Bennett by Elvis Costello.
