Why is this thread even here? This has nothing to do with the Stones. Looking for positive endorsements from world's largest Stones board for a product.

Well at least it's slightly more "useful" than trying to flog the non-existing releases of the RSTG ;-) Maybe the plan is to bring them in later in the thread!

You are well-known for not knowing anything about the rare Stones music.

Everybody know that ReelStone Trading Group (RSTG) is the leading knowledge resource for the serious collector of rare Rolling Stones music.

Haha...so I was right about our friend with the abrasive style and the multiple IDs, so two new ones (jobt and stefanz) to add to the long list...honestly, why do you even bother ?!

As a consequence of the consensus back in february, RSTG will not deliver any samples or snippets from future releases.

From an interview to Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich

Godrich continued “What I do feel about mono, stereo, 5.1… all this Dolby Atmos rubbish... is that music… you can’t get something that’s in 5.1 to ‘cook’; you never could. That’s one of the problems they’re having with Atmos, actually, is that you can’t master it. You can’t put, like, an overall compression on it, really.

“I always used to say that, if you go to see a movie and there’s like an old Rolling Stones track in it, it always sounds @#$%& amazing, and yet music that is designed for that audio format, the 7.1 or whatever...whatever it is it’s not that great, necessarily.

Back to the topic, do you have any own first-hand experiences at all or is it too complex for you?

Wow, thanks to this thread I registered at Tidal and listened to the Tattoo You Atmos Mix.

This is a complete new mix that sounds nothing Like the original version. Micks vocals are cleaner and Sometimes way louder and backing vocals are mostly on the rear channels. I also noticed at least Start me Up is slower than the 2009 remaster. I swear some backing vocal and sax parts are not part of the original Mix. It's really strange. I need some time to deal with this.

Edit:
It's a complete new album for me!

How's your setup? 5.1.2?

You can't say you own a complete collection of official released Rolling Stones music unless you have this [iorr.org], now deal with THAT.

Got a 5.1 Setup. No Atmos! It sounds incredible on Tidal. A new view on my favorite album

I don't know why people insist Stones records be in one set format. My Exile in Blu Ray is incredible, as is Allman Brothers at the Fillmore East. Electric Ladyland in Dolby Atmos is a revelation. It's like a dome of sound over your head. And yes, it rocks. Tattoo You in vinyl on the recent boxset was great.

New technology allows better separation of instruments and vocals. New technology gave us a more listenable Stones at the BBC. Maybe if it was applied to Got Live If You Want It, it might be a much better album.

I just started a one month trial for Tidal and i'm listening to Tattoo You Dolby Atmos right now on my headphones (since I don't have a Atmos set-up in my house).

By far the best version of Tattoo you I've ever heard. Much more depth. Completely the opposite of those brick-walled universal versions we've had over the years. I can't wait to hear Mocambo later today.

No reverb on the band, reverb on Mick - complete opposite of the LP version. Is there anything else different other than the highs being a bit less?

Technically he's correct, Bard. It's counterfeit rather than a bootleg.

Dirk94: Bard, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to IORR.

Bard : I'll never join you!

Dirk94 : If you only knew the power of ReelStone Trading Group. Doxa never told you what happened to Bjornulf.

Bard: He told me enough! He told me *you* killed him!

Dirk94: No. *I* am Bjornulf.

Bard: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible!

Dirk94: Search your feelings, you *know* it to be true!

Bard: [anguished] No! No!

Re: Rolling Stones & Dolby Atmos: Comments

I've heard "Start Me Up" only. It was interesting in the same way that isolated tracks are interesting. It gives you the opportunity to hear things you've never noticed. Regrettably, I can only hear it via headphones as I do not have the necessary home equipment to fully appreciate it. I can understand why an audiophile would love Dolby Atmos. It's also easy to understand why critics say it is most beneficial with classical music, but I'm also old enough to remember when the same criticism was leveled against the compact disc.
