OT: RIP, Stones Fan, Photographer, and Great Human Being: Daniel Teafoe
Posted by: angee ()

Last night, April 26, Daniel Teafoe left us, a victim of esophageal cancer that spread to the bones.
He lived in Chicago. He gave or sold many of us photos of The Rolling Stones and other artwork he
developed over the years.

Gone way too soon,, Daniel was such a kind person, a remarkably generous and sweet soul who touched
many lives in the US and later in London and the US.

I know others have much more information on Danny's life and death. You are welcome to share it here.

Daniel was a lovely, kind, wildly talented man. Very saddened to learn of his passing this morning. In 2007 he brought a photo exhibition to London during the week of the 3 O2 shows and many of us met there - one of his photos from that shows hangs with some of my other Stones stuff. He will be very much missed. I’m glad to have known him, however slightly.

Darn it...very sad to hear this news...

I remember Daniel aka 3DTeafoe from way back in the early shidoobee days, and he was kind enough to send me several prints of his Stones inspired art that I have always cherished.

RIP Daniel

I am saddened to hear of Daniel's passing. He was a great fan of the Rolling Stones and very generous in sharing his 3D photography of the band. May he rest in eternal peace.

Had the pleasure of meeting Daniel at Matt Lee's in London in 2018. As others have said, a true gentleman, knowledgable, welcoming, and clearly so creative. I enjoyed seeing Daniel's photography on facebook.

Shine a light.

I didn't know Daniel or have the chance to attend a Stones show with him, but thanks to one of those little coincidences that life sometimes throws at us, I've gotten a glimpse of how he touched the people in his life.

With the recent passing of James Phelge, I realized that I'd never gotten a copy of his book to add to my Stones library. I found a copy in "very good" condition on Amazon Marketplace and placed my order. The book came to me from Half Price Books (a popular chain of used book stores here in the States) and it was in great condition as promised. But, what intrigued me most was the inscription on the inside front cover.

It was from "Marie" to her "Stones brother" Daniel Teafoe on the occasion of his 52nd birthday in July 2007. She wrote how much she was looking forward to seeing the Stones with him at the London O2 later that summer for the final shows of the Bigger Bang Tour.

Whenever I get a used book with a personalized inscription, I consider it a little bonus--a chance to wonder about the lives of the gifter and the recipient. At the same time, there's a bit of sadness, too. I assume that the book's owner has passed away, because I cannot imagine anything short of a massive falling-out with the giver that would cause someone to part with such a personalized memento. A quick Google search filled in some of Daniel's story.

I found his obituary, which mentioned his "beloved Rolling Stones," and this IORR tribute page. I also found a couple of websites that feature his wonderful photography, including shots he'd taken at various Stones shows over the years. He really had an eye for color and composition. His photographs were from all over the world and included many photos of Daniel smiling and laughing with friends.

To any friends of Daniel's: my deepest condolences on your loss. His copy of "Nankering with the Stones" is safe and sound on my bookshelf, surrounded by many other Stones books. I'll take good care of it and treat it with a bit of extra reverence knowing that it belonged to such a talented and fondly remembered man.

Rest in peace, Daniel.

Yes, thanks so much, TheBadRabbit. I had the extreme pleasure of knowing Daniel.
I hadn't seen his Nashville 2021 Rolling Stones pix.
