The book arrived today via Amazon's Prime service.
Looks very well done and I'll go thru it all, soon.
If not a problem, I'd get in touch with you via your site.
Congradulations, Luca

A cover version of "Paint It Black" shouldn't go unmentioned in my opinion.
"Rot Und Schwarz" by Czech pop singer/crooner Karel Gott (1939-2019), called "The Golden Voice from Prague", who was also famous in Germany and Austria.
A rather idiosyncratic interpretation in German.

Yes, impressive list!
What about the Slovenian band Laibach's versions of "Sympathy for the Devil"?
Haha! Problem with the 'warhorses' of course is that there are so many different versions to choose from.
I like it when artists cover a relatively obscure song, and then very much make it their own. For example, I'd never choose Frank Black & The Catholics' DOWN IN THE HOLE over the Stones, but kudos to him for covering the song in such a unique style:

I very nearly included that one (if ever I do a similar book on The Beatles, I must include her great cover of 'The Ballad of John & Yoko'!).
