What a great read on Byrds music and band members. Well worth it exploring their records as each has some really great tunes waiting to please your ears.
Thanks for posting that. Enjoyed reading McGuinn’s perceptions of those albums and times. A magnificent run that has aged very well.
I used to not care much for their final “reunion” album, but with repeated listening, it has grown on me. Wish they’d polished it a little more and crafted it into a commercial hit, and we would have gotten more of The Byrds.
All the references to Coltrane are surprising. I never heard any Coltrane in eight miles high, but apparently there is. And then later on he refers to McCoy Tyner too.
