Honestly, I've never even heard of them.

To each his/her own, but I love The New York Dolls! That said, we all know the RNR HOF hasn't meant much at all for a long time, if it ever did.

This has become to what Jerry Seinfeld would describe as a: pretentious, high-minded, selfcongratulatory B.S. event

J. Geils Band, the greatest American band of all time...not even nominated. At least the Stooges are in. X will never get a mention.

Do you think there will ever come a year a-la the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY , when there will be no one inducted in a calendar year ? The list of nominee's is weak , as the RRHOF is becoming a caricature of it's former self .

J Geils Band nominated five times yet incredulously still not in.
I think the success they had with the Love Stinks/Freeze Frame albums actually hurt their chances. Voters who became most familiar with them from that era likely thought of them as more one hit wonders as they were the last albums they put out.
The last one after those "You're Getting Even, While I'm Getting Odd" without Peter Wolf also likely didn't help.
Their seventies output prior to that was definitely HOF worthy on it's own imo.
