What is your favourite "long" Stones song?
Posted by: Stones89 ()

By this, I mean any song that is at least 6 to 11 or 12 minutes in length. My pick is Midnight Rambler. Nice tempo changes in that one plus it really cooks when played live. Memory Motel is nice also. Very good tune. So, what's your favourite?smiling smiley

Midnight Rambler for sure.

Not only is the studio version great, there are TONS of great live versions. The Ya Ya's version, Brussels...and the MSG 2003 HBO show's version cooks.

Least favorite: "Time Waits For No One." How long is that song, anyway? 12 minutes?

Fingerprint File
Can't Ya Hear Me Knockin'
Midnight Rambler
Claudine
Miss You (extended version)
When the Whip Comes Down (exteneded version)
Slave (unedited long version/instrumental)
Memory Motel
Thief in the Night + that lost song on Bridges to Babylon
Dance Pt. 2 (I know there's a long version out there somewhere; darker, groovier, scarier, more sinister-- the side of the Stones I like the best)

Geez, Leonard I had to think about that . . . those songs ain't that long??

I'll throw YCAGWYW into the hat along with Moonlight Mile (0.80 KM), I'll also say that it changes all the time. FF, MR, CYHMK, Slave, I'm Goin' Home . . . that's part of one nice setlist .

I love Let it Loose and Moonlight Mile, but I think that they are both less than 6:00.
