i love the version of she was hot you posted! is that the single version? it sounds far better than the album version! (Dunno if the lp version is better but undercover on cd sounds terrible).
What a great song SWH is. Pity that it was on UC. That album has the misfortune to have been released in the maligned 80's. Th Stones should have played this one Live a long time ago already. Should be a warhorse. Is perfect for live. Has the rocking verse, the strong musical chorus, the vocal hook, with GREAT lyrics. I LOVE LOVE the final chorus when Jagger stays on the chorus melody and just builds and builds ending "on a cold Chicago ni-i-ight" with Charlie thundering behind him. This is the one time where I think Leavell plays really pretty on a Stones song. The chorus effect on his piano is good.
Yeah, this one is surprisingly intense. Kind of a sequel to "She's So Cold," but appropriately the reverse feeling, not relaxed at all. The production's so involved, you start to wonder what it's all about. Fits in with Undercover, as what seems like just a raunchy tune seems to turn into something dark and unpleasant.
I love how mick phrases, "I was driy-ippin' sweat..." as a lead-in to one of the choruses.
Thanks for these, man. SWH IS a great track, a classic swinging rocker in the best Stones tradition. I love the bass on both of these (I think it's Ronnie on ER).
Here's a bonus track for this notional maxi-single. This is what I believe is a longer version of "Summer Romance" (3:52). Again, some great bass-work from good ol' Bill.
Many thanks for these presents. Though I never liked "Emotional Rescue", and also the long version is nothing but disco crap in my opinion. But the long version of "She was Hot" is the better version of a great Stones song from "Undercover".
