Classy move by Taylor Hawkins to put "Charlie RIP" on his bass drum, the other night.

Really disappointing, especially considering how much I dislike the Foo Fighters.

Would have been nice to have an American cover of Charlie on The Rolling Stone. Just for keepsakes. The magazine has lost all relevance & importance decades ago.

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

I thought Charlie on the cover would be a no-brainer. Then I remembered why I let my subscription lapse years ago.

Don’t get me wrong, RS Magazine has been weak for a long time.

It's operator error that a magazine called ROLLING STONE wouldn't have Charlie on the cover.

Someone should be fired for that. People would have actually bought the magazine FOR THAT COVER; they could have bumped Grohl for a month.

One of the one's left over from an 80s AC/DC tour.

What were they the 4.1 inch diameter? Can't remember for sure. Vintage stuff.

Rolling Stone died years before Charlie

Now just a rag not fit for the birdcage

The numbskulls who now run it should look up who their paper was named after

Really?? How many rock stars got a cover when they died? An actual rolling stone dies and gets a brush off He deserves BOTH a cover now and a special issue later

I haven't seen the magazine yet. The best thing would be to acknowledge the death, and say something to the effect, 'At press time we could not prepare for such a momentous event. Next issue will have the full story.'

I stopped my decades long subscription a couple years ago. It's a skimpy, non relevant magazine to me now. Rappers, and auto tuners are not rock and roll. They're just trading on the name now.

How long after the Boston Bomber did they put that on the cover?

Just seen a Facebook post showing next month's cover which IS a Charlie Watts obituary.

Edit: just realised it is the French edition of RS, but at least one version is doing the right thing, so maybe others will.

Rolling Stone magazine hasn’t been relevant to music since the year I graduated high school. I’m 64 now.

Dave Grohl’s publicist is TOO GOOD at his/her/their job.

That is all.

Grohl would be nothing without Cobain....period.

??? He would be the leader of one of the few consistently successful rock groups today. Foo Fighters opened for the Police in 2007 and absolutely blew the Police away. And how many drummers have switched from one group to another, played guitar instead of drums, and wrote the songs?

Sure, Kurt gave him his break, but Ghohl has done great with it. And he's respectful of his rock elders. Why the hate?

I don't hate anyone...I just think everything he's done absolutely sucks post Nirvana....and I kinda like Nirvana, sue me.

We all love Charlie, but Dave Grohl is a bigger figure in the rock world. Whatever Grohl is up to is bigger than Charlie's death. No disrespect to anybody.
