I think some people take music and rock'n'roll far too serious. Songs can be stupid but still fun.
And that's all it's about.

Paul McCartney's done a tonne of cringeworthy...

The Girl is Mine and Say Say Say come to mind.

Ebony and Ivory.

Honestly, I even find "Jet" sort of cringeworthy, and that's not at all being influenced by Welda and his Joan Jett tirade.

Lets give credit where credit is due: was not my "tirade".

I find most all of Paul's post breakup stuff pretty cringeworthy, several notable exceptions aside. All that Venus and Mars stuff, eh, sounds like grade schooler stuff. Live and Let Die, now there's a song. They were few and far between unfortunately.

And to further skewer the legendary, John Lennon's post breakup was pretty cringeworthy if you ask me. The Beatles really needed each other to rein in the excesses of the individual members. To me, Ringo came out looking the best just by keeping his head (mostly) down and doing some simple fun stuff and being wise enough to surround himself with the best musicians available.

Paul’s “Let ‘Em In,” is horrendous. Very worthy of the cringe.

Air Supply’s “I’m All Out Of Love” may be the most ball less piece of music ever written.

I like some Joan Jett songs. Bad Reputation and Cherry Bomb are keepers, however, Do You Wanna Touch Me is indeed cringeworthy.

For that matter, so is Pat Benstar’s cover of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights.

No sitting down on your butt
The world don't owe you
No sitting down in a rut
I wanna show you
Don't waste your energy
On making enemies
Just take a deep breath
And work your way up
Let's work, be proud
Stand tall, touch the clouds
Man and woman, be free
Let's work, kill poverty
La, la, la
Work your way up
Let's work, be proud
Stand tall, touch the clouds
Man and woman, be free
Let's work, kill poverty
You're sitting down on your butt
And your get greedy
You start to lose your nuts
Don't you look seedy
Can generosity bring you humility
So take a deep breath
Ain't gonna sweat for you
Ain't gonna sigh for you
Ain't gonna cry for you
If you're lazy
Ain't gonna slave for you
Ain't gonna hurt for you
It just won't work for you
If you're lazy
Let's work, be proud
Stand tall, touch the clouds
Let's work, let's eat
Let's live in ecstasy
Man and woman, be free
Let's work, kill poverty
Let's work, be proud
Stand tall, touch the clouds
Man and woman, be free
Let's work, let's work
Get down in the dirt and let's work
Get down in the dirt and let's work
Get up, be free
Get down in the dirt, let's work
Get down in the dirt, let's work
Get down in the dirt
Take off your shirt
Get down in the dirt
Let's work

One of the worst song ever

This is hidious and at the time it proved that Mick didn't write 50% of Stones songs, it proved Keith is very generous when it comes to sharing song writing credits and loyalties.

I do not react against the melody really. It is all about the lyrics. How much I may adore Mick Jagger, for me that lyrics approaches the despisable, coming from one who has had the talent AND the luck to gain success and, eventually, financial riches by following ones's passion to play popular music. From that privileged viewpoint, I think you have no moral right to speak that way, even through a pop song, towards all people, who have uninteresting routine jobs.

This was a man with a wealth for sure but surely with no taste... I think releasing "Let's Work" as a leading single off the album was Mick's worst career choice ever... That doomed PRIMITIVE COOL, and most likely, his solo career. The only way I got to understand "what the hell Mick was thinking" is that he - if not totally coked-up - was thinking in terms of high risk and high reward - that maybe this sort of over-the-top thing might hit the times well. The 80's were crazy times and whatever kind of odd (horrible) things turned to be huge hits - but they were not that crazy...grinning smiley

Probably Maggie Thatcher liked it, I don't know...eye rolling smiley

But looking now, in retrospect, fatal mistakes like this just adds the story and makes it more funny and fascinating... Mick and we all survived the 80's, didn't we? And, if anything else, what would be the tale of Keith Richards without Mick's failures... grinning smiley

Indian Girl used to make me cringe, but it has sort of matured on me, with it's helplessly crafted political message and camp delivery.

Yes, John and Paul both needed the other to edit (tell them when a song was really bad).

The all time cringe worthy song has to be "Henry The 8th". Really, Peter Noone in general gets on my nerves.

Someone's already said "sharks will cry" right? Lol

Honestly, I love track and the verses but the chorus "You got me rockin'" is cheesy, I wish they'd come up with something better.

Thinking of things from people I actually like, since people I don't there's endless examples.

I like Billy Joel, but his last record in 1993 had some cringe stuff like "Blonde Over Blue" and "All About Soul" - I guess that's why he stopped making records.
