Elton's been postponing and re-postponing and even adding new shows here and there. It's a mess. His "Farewell Tour" which started in 2018 doesn't even look like a "Neverending tour", it's the "Never Rescheduled Tour" now!

Government sources in Finland are now saying COVID restrictions could be lifted "a month after Denmark" so in that sense I guess we actually came close of having the Elton shows this year. Oh well. Still holding on to my tickets. They were like 8th row, front and center too.

Be interesting to see if Elton plays his late September and October shows as planned.

Everything is changing from day to day. It's hard to fix any plans for months.

The Doobie Brothers will postpone their four upcoming shows as a member of the touring personnel has tested positive with COVID-19. The shows in Clarkston, Burgettstown, Toledo, and Cincinnati will be rescheduled and new dates will be announced shortly.

Incredible how many bands are having to change plans - whether vaccinated or unvaccinated....Kiss, Elton, Doobie Brothers, Indigo Girls...and the list continues to grow on a daily basis.
Not hard to understand why with news stories like this continuing to make headlines:

Coronavirus: U.S. hits daily average of 100,000 hospitalizations
Hospitals across the nation are being pushed to the brink with a daily average of 100,000 Covid-19 patients,
higher than any point since last winter when the vaccine wasn’t available for most.

Buddy Guy just postponed his tour. Was supposed to see him September 7 at the Belly Up. I am relieved. He is in his 80s and should be extra careful.

Yes they were vaccinated - this excerpt from the official statement when they cancelled because of Paul Stanley's coronavirus a few days ago:

"Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated..."

Saw them several years ago but Michael McDonald wasn't part of it. This would be a good show even though I'm not a huge Doobie Bros fan.

Not sure if this was posted, but relevant to many outdoor events including sports and rock and roll concerts:

Concerts, outdoor events can still be risky as delta variant continues to spread

Concerts and outdoor events are returning, and many are requiring proof of vaccination as part of new safety protocols designed to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19. But while experts say being outdoors is less risky in general, they continue to recommend additional precautions for those visiting crowded outdoor venues. Health experts say the delta variant is more contagious than the strain American was dealing with last winter, and even fully vaccinated people need to be careful in certain situations. “If you’re stuck in a crowd with people all around you, particularly yelling and screaming like at a concert or football game, I think that’s a risky situation for you and I would try and avoid it right now,” Dr. John Swartzberg said.

The Highway 77 Music Festival is being postponed out of an abundance of caution and will be rescheduled to a to-be-determined date in Summer 2022 as a result of increased COVID-19 cases. For more information, please visit the link below.

Gene Simmons updates his status - and plugs some KISS merch:

During my quarantine (thanks to the vaccine, I’m really fine. Thanks you for asking.) my security guy bought me this comic, which was in the display window of a comic book store. KISS Comics Monthly. Get em!

Can add My Morning Jacket to the rescheduled list.

They seem to have been very smart about how they scheduled their dates with substantial gaps, in case of instance(s) like the one above.

“Anti-vaxxer Richard Ashcroft has seemingly caught COVID-19.”

He pulled out of the headlining slot of the Tunes in the Dunes festival tomorrow, Saturday 4th.

Remember him supporting the Stones in Manchester and Edinburgh 2018?

What goes around, comes around.

The vaccination rate is increasing rapidly in Norway, and is soon 90% among adults, so it seems like the level 4 i.e. complete reopening might be just in time for the Elton John concerts at Telenor Arena next month, October 22/23.

Remember, ol Bob had the bird flu 20+ years ago. He was very very ill from it. He was ill for a few months. This is a respiratory disease. This makes him more vulnerable to Covid. My opinion.
