As I wrote before, I just recently heard Royal Albert Hall is in play. Not sure if those plans have changed, though. Wouldn't be surprised if they tack it on as an extra show much like the Hard Rock one at the end of the US tour last year.

Thanks for the updated info on this Topi, appreciate it.

Waiting on this (these) shows... wouldn't surprise me either if they wait to tack on smileys with beer

RAH is pretty packed in June but lots of dates are available in July…

RAH around 24-Aug-2022 would be nice: 1 year remembrance of Charlie Watts with a special setlist. smiling smiley

Francis Zegut, RTL french radio DJ since 1980, have posted a message on Twitter about a show on "Le Champ de Mars" near the Eiffel Tower, july 2022.

Usually, shows rumors from Zegut are solid.

If they DO end up playing at the Royal Albert Hall it's very well worth knowing the following.

The place is owned by some sort of Royal foundation and leased out with some special conditions.

One of those conditions is that there MUST be tickets on sale at the venue on the day of a performance. Full Stop. As far as I know, the RAH uses this to sell the tickets standing in the gallery (along with Rose and Valerie) - and I have done that several times over the years. Also they sell any (rare) returns - so you could get mind bogglingly lucky.

So, on the day of any show, turn up at the RAH box office early in the morning, queue for a couple of hours, and you stand a very good chance of admission.

Thank you for the hot tip Cap’n. I live near Swindon, 80 odd miles West of London, so will be doing exactly that thumbs up. I’ve scored tickets on the day a few times, including O2 Show 1 in 2012.

I have no idea at all, but they should have been able to.

A tale. One of the times I queued was for one of EC's nights there. I got to the queue mid/late morning and got my ticket, no problems. Enjoyed the show.

The next day I read in an Eric mailing list the account of one person who had got there really early and was (about) 4th in the queue.

So, box office opened, and in turn the 3 in front of him went to the window, had a conversation, then bought their ticket and went on. This guy then takes his turn and they offered him, as they had the folk in front, a Return ticket. Unlike the folk in front of him, he decided to take the ticket, which he saw from it that it was a good seat. It was a return.

That evening he goes in to the show and was escorted to his seat... which was front row dead centre in the stalls! Only better location would have been on the stage with Eric! What I really liked about the story was that it happened to a genuine fan who was able to appreciate it.

Good catch, Irix. As mentioned, that Zegut guy has often been right before when it comes to Stones date in France. IIRC, he knew (and tweeted) the exact date of the 2014 Stade de France show months before it was announced.

This obviously doesn't mean all the rumors he posts are right. You can see on page 3 that last October he tweeted "The Rolling Stones 25 juin 2022 Garorock"?

We now "know" that Hyde Park #1 is planned for that same date, 25 June.

Stones in Holland seems a 'certainty' this year, but where?

The Stones have a long history with gigs in the Netherlands and I'm sure it's a safe bet that 'we' will get a concert again this summer. I'm curious what venue it will be. Possible options with estimated capacity:
- Amsterdam Arena (50.000)
- Arnhem Gelredome (40.000)
- Nijmegen Goffertpark (55.000)
- Groningen Stadspark (65.000)
- Pinkpop festival ground (70.000)

I hope they'll go for an outdoor location (Pinkpop ground would be great). Least favorite option is the always depressing Amsterdam Arena.

The first question is: is this gonna by a tour that's mainly focussed on the UK plus some shows in Europe (like 2018) (I think they'll do less shows in the UK than in 2018 since ticket sales were quite slow. On the other hand they had to lower ticket prices for the show in Stuttgart to fill the venue)
Next question: how many shows will (mainland) Europe get. If it's only a few I guess there are Spain and Italy on the list (since the didn't shows there in 2018). Germany might get a show because there are enough people who are able (and willing) to pay very high ticket prices.
Finally: avoiding clusters might be part of tour planing, for example: either a show in the Netherlands or West Germany (Düsseldorf) or Belgium

No Amsterdam Arena or Gelredome please. Both have very bad acoustics. In the past they always closed the roof when the Stones played there. And then the sound bounces from the walls to the ceiling and back. Echo's everywhere. Just horrible.

I was in the front on Keith's side and it was really bad. Not as bad as the Amsterdam Arena shows I visited, but bad. Stood on the exact same spot at the London Olympics show a year later and man... HUGE difference.

I was in the PIT on Ronnie's side in the Gelredome in 2017 and have to say I was positively surprised with the sound.
I've been once in the Arena (Bridges to Babylon) and that was terrible (probably had something to do with the bad seats I had, but heard the same complaints about acoustics from people up front)

Could be, but I would be really surprised if there will be no Dutch show. Wishful thinking probably...

There may still be the issue of British unfair tax rules. The Stones have been manouvering for so many years as not to be unfairly sc*wed by it. So we even could see something happen in 2023 in Europe (just think of 2017/2018).
As for the Netherlands, even though born in lovely Amsterdam, I always preferred "de Kuip" in Rotterdam (50.000+) for its better accoustics. In all fairness I have to say that the accoustics in the Arena have improved much (!) after that dramatic (sound wise) concert on June 29, 1998.
The GelreDome (2017) was fine by all means winking smiley
Keith: "it's great to be here, it's great to be anywhere". Same for me "It's great to see the Stones here, it's equally great to see them anywhere"

I have been to the Arnhem show in 2017 as well as to the two London shows in 2018. I was in the pit on Keith side at all three shows and there was no reason to complain about the sound – neither in Arnhem nor in London. (The sound might get bad if you are to close to the stage, but it's easy to avoid this if your are in the pit)

Yes. There may only be a handful of tickets but every Clapton show I have been to I have seen the line and people have gotten tickets. I have only been to 14 of the 250 but have been there early and grabbed a spot on the line for friends.

The structure of this tour will be an interesting thing to see. Did anyone noticed that the additional shows in 2021 sometimes only had 2 days of rest in between them? Those were shows added post Charlie, so I think the 3-4 days between shows rule was something he requested. Also I think the decision to do 15 dates per tour was made in his request too? So this tour might be a little more flexible in the number of concerts being played and scheduling than the last few.

Weird. I was there... I bought tickets online, 2 days in advance as we had nothing to do that night... Still plenty available.
