On the set list, do you suppose they will do "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" any time this tour?
Hoping for a few surprises for 10/17.

I think the LA shows will have more variations to the set list than other cities with just one show.
Maybe we'll get a Tattoo You mini set.
I am sure they know we all want some variations. Let's hope they give it to us.
Neighbors, Worried About You and Waiting on a Friend please!

If the LA shows were reversed they could pull a few special nuggets in the first one to boost sales in the second. Let's see if that happens. Personally I think the first one will be the show to be at because it will be half empty.

Yep, they really seem to take a "we'll show you what you missed" approach on those types of nights!
As examples from the past (from my perspective)

Most of us may be tired of Miss You, but it's extremely popular with:
1) Mick (he's allowed to have favourites).
2) Casual fans: when I'm hunting for live links, the board suddenly lights up for Miss You. If someone is only going to film or stream one song, it's always that one.

I would like for them to substitute another song besides Miss You as well Mick likes to play it obviously so I think we are stuck with it. I'd like to see them go back to the shorter length arrangements like they had in 78 & 81 the song now just goes on for too long. The bass solo doesn't do much for me.Quote

Longer version of press conference posted on ABC 7 Los Angeles news facebook page:
ABC7 News - Rolling Stones
"The Rolling Stones are in Southern California! We caught up with the band last night after they landed at the Burbank airport. The band said they’re excited to be on stage again!
“It’s great to be out doing it again and I think the audiences are pleased to be out and having fun and enjoying themselves,” Mick Jagger told us.
The band will take the stage at SoFi Stadium for two nights - this Thursday and Sunday".
*Can't find link to story on ABC 7 website or youtube, but I'm sure it will appear eventually

Miss You is now Keith's only opportunity to smoke a cigarette while Ronnie and Mick are far out on the catwalk. Also Keith needs a break so it has an important role in the set list
Yes but he only seems to do it now when Ronnie isn't close. So he rarely smokes during most part of the show.Quote

But he hasn't completely quit yet. Also thought he might have quit because you rarely see him smoke anymore but on one video from Nashville I saw him smoking

It was 40 years ago today that I was in between my first and second Stones concerts which took place at the L.A. Coliseum Oct. 9 and 11, 1981. And now 40 years later, can't help but reminisce a bit.
There's been many shows in between - from here to Stockholm - in clubs, theaters, arenas and stadiums in many different cities and countries around the world, and have met many fine people along the way.
Now looking forward to my 63rd (and possibly 64th) show in he same city where I first saw them as a 17 year old high school student all those years ago...
They were larger than life back then....
And still are larger than life to this day...ROCK AND ROLL GIANTS...
It's incredible that 40 years later (almost on the same days) I'll be seeing the Stones again...
Lots has changed since both for them and myself, but the thrill leading up to a Stones show will always be there...
Setlist for October 11th 1981
Under My Thumb
When the Whip Comes Down
Let's Spend the Night Together
Shattered
Neighbours
Black Limousine
Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)
Twenty Flight Rock
Let Me Go
Time Is on My Side
Beast of Burden
Waiting on a Friend
Let It Bleed
You Can't Always Get What You Want

Tumbling Dice
She's So Cold
All Down the Line

Start Me Up

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
> Keep on Rolling................
Nice post and reminiscence. You won’t be able to complain about the set list… only 6-7 of the ones above likely to be played this time round!!! :-)

Interestingly, during the short PC at the airport, they said they woud prepare for the 2 gigs in LA and do some days of rehearsals.
Wonder if they dare to do the best rehearsal possible: play a club!
