It is those two new songs that has most impressed me during the pandemic. I guess they will be always associated in my mind to these times in future as well.

Incredibly strong releases by old farts that many had considered as has-beens - and both coming totally out of blue. Both songs hitting the Zeitgeist by different means - and having a right timing as well, since all was still then - a year ago - fresh and odd and none of us did know what the hell is happening or will happen.

Come on, "Murder Most Foul" has nothing to do with the pandemic. It's about the JFK murder in 1963. Dylan is not a political writer. Typical of him to react to that one 57 years later.

Whatever the literal topic deals with, the timing of the song couldn't have been better - the pandemic sets an atmosphere to reflect dramatic things of the past - and how the things affect on us and how we perceive them. You know, serious shit. Bob speaks, like so many times before, in a more general level. Like the best artists do.

Honestly, I can't understand what Dylan being a political writer or not has anything to do with this.
