Michael Spinks was a genuinely great fighter. Leon was more like a flash in the pan. He was great for one night, and then it was all pretty much downhill after that. In fact, after losing the rematch to Ali, he got knocked out in his very next fight. In the first round.

We're in the middle of a worldwide crisis. Not much going on in music or anything else. I don't mind the OT stuff...especially now.
Michael is probably the best LHW ever and one of the best fighters of modern era.
Sadly, his crushing defeat against Tyson seems to have overshadowed everything he had accomplished.

While he did defeat Ali, he was 11 years younger. RIP Leon. A great fighter and a wonderful person.

I remember watching that fight. Though he defeated Ali, he remained humble, saying, “I’m the latest but he’s the greatest”.

RIP. I saw him in Vegas about 5 years ago. He had a little table along a walkway in Planet Hollywood casino selling autographs. It was pretty sad.

Ali got revenge, he beat Leon Spinks in the rematch!
Still Leon beating Ali was shocking but don't forget ... Michael Spinks also had a great boxing victory, beating Larry Holmes for the title, and in the process keeping Holmes from matching Rocky Marciano's consecutive unbeaten winning streak!
