There is a pattern here.

I guess what we are here wittnessing is The Stones using the format of online services to promote their catologue. The idea is just to offer the stuff in small, easily digested form (not too many tracks) under some catchy title to catch the attention of random users. Expect more to come.

I guess it is useless to wait any kind of physical equivalents to pop up. This is a ballgame of its own. It is what it is; a cheap and easy promotional trick made possible by the format. You live and learn...

Funnily, those collections of songs are called in Spotify:
(a) Singles: look at the description of the page.
(b) EPs: look at their cover art and titles.
(c) Albums: look at the category under which they are served.

Hmm... It looks like that even today, as been with collections since the early 80's, ABKCO is not allowed to release anything under a new title (unless they do a special deal with the Stones). That's why they only can release 'EPs' in the form of individual songs and called as such.

So the Stones (Promotone) have an advantage in this new business...
