Nah, b-side material to me. A generic blues. The Stones always put a blues song on the record. As an homage to their roots I guess. This one didn't make it to VL.
And I can see why. I don't like the sound of VL by the way. Charlie in a staircase and all that crap. It doesn't warm you.

i didn't like VL either which is why I was so surprised to find myself liking The Storm - going back to their roots without sounding self-consciously retro..

Have always liked it, I remember reading Ronnie lobbied for this song to make the album.

VL is too long but contains some great material. The opening Side on my old cassette was an excellent run of songs. Side 2 isn't as good but does contain Thru and Thru, Mean Disposition and Brand New Car. Babylon overall is higher quality I think but whenever I revisit VL it is always a good listen.

Maybe because I grew up with the early Rolling Stones, but every time they do a down-to-earth blues song, I cheer up. By doing so they remind me where they came from and hoe I became passionate for the band. Stripped had apart from The Storm another traditional with I'm Gonna Drive. And then there is BB's Back of my Hand for instance. The Stones and blues ... inseperable.

Mick's vocals are horrible, and the tune itself is a nonsensical blues that goes nowhere.
Semi-decent guitars and drumming, but not enough to save the tune.

Great blues! However I love VL, which I consider to be one of the best works of the Stones ever.

So f'ing good!

Remember buying CD singles from the album. Loved So Young, this song not so much. Sounds like a generic Stones blues song.
