The Seahawks may get outscored just as last year in the playoffs. They need to improve on defense because they can not win by outscoring other teams in playoffs. Possible but not not the likely.......

Baltimore will cover the -3.5 spread. Well that is scary bet ...maybe just take the over...

I took those points (not for money, ESPN contest). The over is easy on that one. Famous last words, haha.....

I think thats a valid question I found this online -

Fake crowd noise on NFL broadcasts and inside stadiums
With empty sports venues during the COVID-19 pandemic, some leagues have piped fake crowd noise into the stadium and let broadcast networks choose whether to feature that sound on TV. Others have simply featured the fake crowd noise as broadcast-only elements and left it out of the stadium.

It's annoying! Knowing there's no one or hardly anyone in the stands, it's like the din of a casino. I think it's dumb.

It's all about the TV ratings. That's where the money is, more than ever this year.

Hat's off I say to the league for having the crowd noise piped in and to the networks that do it as well. Makes watching games on tv almost normal imo.

The decibel level is capped at 75, which the Seahawk crowd typically eclipse on a routine third down. The person controlling the noise and the timing of the volume I believe works for the home team,
so it works well imo.

I don't think there's anything conclusive about the lack of real crowd noise affecting or not affecting the game. Even though the Hawks have won their first couple home games,
I think the 12th man is sorely missed and the games perhaps wouldn't have been as close.

Bit of an ugly Sunday for Cam Newton but, lo and behold, Rex Burkhead and Sony Michel inexplicably morphed into Jim Brown and Gale Sayers, leading the Patriots to a decisive win over the Raiders. Credit must also go to the O-Line for creating some wide open running lanes, not something we're used to seeing from NE.

So we went from a QB who ran like crazy in Week 1, to a pass-happy QB in Week 2, to a running attack reminiscent of the Csonka-Kiick days in Miami in Week 3. Wonder what's in store next week in Kansas City?

A few other questions to ponder as we wait for next week's games...

How long before Adam Gase, Matt Patricia, and Dan Quinn are collecting unemployment checks?

Will throwing 'just' three TD passes in a game be considered on 'off night' for Russell Wilson?

When it comes to his legacy as a GM, is it fair to say that John Elway is the 'Michael Jordan of the NFL'?

Is this the year Josh Allen silences his critics in Buffalo?

Wouldn't it have been great if the Cowboys were 0-3 instead of a 'gift wrapped' 1-2?

Is it true that Duncan Yo-Yos is planning to introduce a Mitch Trubisky Model for Christmas?

Are Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers experiencing a revival of sorts?

Would the Jets be better off had the entire team opted out of the season due to COVID-19?

And, finally...which stadium has the best fake crowd noise?

Philly has had the best crowd noise. When Wentz messes up, they have recorded "boos" for him. These are the fans that pelted Santa Claus with snowballs, haha.

TV ratings have become a bit obsolete, don't ya think? Who can watch Monday Night Football? Only people that have cable or live in the town that one of the teams is from. Other than that, the NFL has shot itself in the foot regarding it being an actual national game since more people have gotten rid of cable.

The TV deals, which includes Amazon and Direct TV, all of which is worth $5 billion, will run out after the 2022 season (I'm going to guess that includes the 2023 playoffs). ESPN's MNF deal ends after 2021.

Entertainment interests have become compartmentalized. People are damn tired of these costs exceeding routine household expenses.

There's talk that MNF may be back on broadcast channel with the new contract. Both ABC & ESPN showed the game week 2.

Was the ABC broadcast national or strictly local? ABC owns ESPN after all.

In New Orleans, the local Fox station, which basically owns the Saints, shows the MNF games.

It was national. I know what you are talking about though. We get ESPN MNF games on the local FOX station when the Seahawks are on. Minor Stones connection: when the FOX station was renewing its license they had a commercial where the owners were listed. 1 of them was Jeri (Hall) Murdoch.

You really think the crowd thing is hype??? Wow have you ever been to a game in New Orleans, Seattle, KC ? just 3 examples of home field advantage. I have been to several games in Seattle and the crowd noise can be deafening it is a clear advantage, Your right in the sense its not a guaranteed victory any team can win on any given sunday thats why they play... but when the opposing players can't hear the QB autible's that's called the TWELFETH MAN !!
Hawks looking really good Packers Looking really good hopefully they can match up with the Chiefs and Raven's when the time comes.

GO AWKS !!!

I have been to a Saints game. And to 3 Bears games. If the crowd thing was as big a deal as the TV heads make it this year reveals that's not true.

Well, obviously home field with noise when the opposite team is going can be an issue, that's true. It's just that there have been enough games when the home team lost with a loud crowd and with no crowd/very little crowd (so far) this year I'm not sure if it matters where the game is played. Maybe it was bad articulation.

Can't wait for Bears/Colts on Sunday, should be a good game. One good thing about having a satellite dish in Canada is I get to see a lot of different games. I get US network feeds out of Seattle and Boston so all those games, and then CTV shows games and I get feeds from all major Canadian cities from westcoast to east coast. CTV Toronto usually shows Bills games, which was good back in the day when Doug Flutie was the QB! He was probably the best player to play in the CFL. His style of play was suited for the CFL game, with a larger field.

Hard to believe this is his first time winning this, but congrats to Russell Wilson!

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson wins first-career NFC Offensive Player of the Month award
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, the league announced Thursday, the first time in his career winning the honor. It comes a day after he claimed the conference’s offensive player of the week award for the second time in the first three weeks of the season.

Yes, Moon would be right up there! Former Husky I believe. Doug Flutie was a 3 time Grey Cup Winner, won 3 Grey Cup MVP's and was six time league MVP. Loved watching him and brother Darren when they played together here in BC.
Also, the Steelers have more interest locally this year with rookie Chase Claypool playing wide receiver. He was born and raised in Abbotsford, just outside Vancouver. I'm not a Steelers fan but I've been cheering for him, he's made a few nice catches so far! Always nice to see Canadians make the NFL, like Luke Wilson on the Seahawks!

Ready for week 4 of the season. My Seahawks have some pretty major injury issues but for once got a break with the scheduling. Even in their depleted state they should be able to handle Miami this week & Minnesota next Sunday night (boy is that a candidate for flexing. I think it is too early in the season, per contract, for NBC to do that). Then we get the bye week & hopefully will be mostly healed up for a tough 5 week run that includes Arizona twice, San Francisco, Buffalo (luckily before winter gets serious there) & the LA Rams. Probably a loss or 2 in that bunch but we get well with Washington, New York Jets, Philadelphia & the NY Giants after that. I think the Seahawks could end up leading the tough NFC West for the whole season. If things maintain as they are currently it will be a battle with Green Bay for the number 1 seed in the NFC. Except for the travel, playing the sucky NFC East & sort of sucky AFC East is a lucky thing. The Hawks used to have trouble with the early east coast games in the Holmgren era but since Pete Carroll took over it hasn't been an issue. The team is always well prepared. Can't wait to see what Russ cooks for brunch tomorrow. Same for my friend. She always comes through for the brunch games hugely. Awesome cooking from the south. Going to have to starve myself today to get ready! GO HAWKS!
