I agree with pretty much most of what you say in that the Stones have been cashing in for years and have become blatant money grabbers with little sense of scruples, but the original point of your initial post in this thread seems to be more concerned with the fact that this new release is being sold by Starbucks than the fact that theyre releasing it at all.

Its a fair enough argument if you think the release is a pointless cash-in and dont feel that you want to buy it (although I dont agree with you that the songs are "already available to most people" because in most cases they're NOT), but the issue of where they choose to sell it is pretty irrelevant.

That's it, that's the end. We have Bjornulf's confession in print, he DRINKS Starbucks coffee. This is the end of the world as we know it, the end of IORR, the end of the Rolling Stones, the end of everything we care about ............

Someone get the man a decent cup of coffee ....... QUICK !!

May be the Stones were whoring themselves allowing their CDs to be sold on the internet. Starbucks is another outlet not the exclusive outlet, so buy it elsewhere (if you buy it).

Are people starting to wake up that the Stones are in it for the money and not the music?

OK, the Stones are whores. No question about that. But they've never whored their music. Let's take as an example Rod Stewart. Every album he made up until Never a dull Moment was classic, great rock n roll. But after Tonight's the Night he ho'ed himself and his music. He sold the music. (I would "ho" myself to Brit Ekland, but I think that's a different story) That, my friends, is a "HO". Shameless, he became. The Stones have never sold-out the music. A crucial difference, IMHO.

Its ok for people in the US where Starbucks are everywhere in the Uk outside London there are about two Starbucks and even then you can't buy the cds so you end up having to pay way over the odds for them on Ebay .
