Ronnie Wood - Reading for People in Recovery
Posted by: Jimmy C ()

If you go to Ronnie's Facebook, or Instagram, he has posted a video of himself reading from some of the books he uses for his own recovery, for those that are unable to make meetings. He reads a piece about hope, and it is quite moving and beautiful in these times.

I think Ronnie's post is wonderful. Powerful in it's humility.

I'm impressed. Ronnie's heart is pure gold, which especially shines now when he is sober and having a mind back. I know people who are really struggling at the moment for the AA doors being closed. It is claimed that the stuff kills three million people a year, so any help is needed in that front, too.

He was clearly quite emotional at moments in that reading. He seems to be in a good place these days with his family. Sally has been the right woman at the right time.

What a great thing to do! He certainly seems to be living a very happy life, i'm glad for him. Remember when he was with that Russian girl? what a mess that was.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

His initial tweet was also very touching:

"To those in AA, NA and other recovery support groups, who won’t be able to go to meetings during Coronavirus Lockdown, I hope these readings help you as much as they help me"

Don't know, but very likely one of these Hazelden daily inspirational books.
Very popular amongst recovery groups etc.

Very cool of Ronnie to be doing these.

Also- many meetings are now being offered online.

A mess, indeed. However, she’s British-Kazakh; not Russian.

I liked that crazy Russian thing.

I actually met her through work a few years back. Let’s put it this way: that relationship was a wrecker for everyone; not just for Ronnie’s family.
