Checking in high and dry from the French Quarter in New Orleans. Rather disappointed by the cancelled (rumored) show at the N.O. Arena. Would have been great to see the boys within walking distance of my flat. Looking forward, though, to along weekend in Houston in December.

Just moved to Greenville, SC after having lived in Madrid, Spain, Bowling Green, OH and Ann Arbor, MI, all in the last 2 years. Greenville and SC are not a stones area like the other places (Ann Arbor, near Detroit, and the midwest in general; especially Madrid, are big on the Stones).

I just found out that the Stones played SC on 11-26-89 at Clemson. I would have enjoyed that, its a cool stadium, and it would have been fairly warm that time of year. Any reports on that show?

West Virginia, but I'm not sure if we're counted as southern, or even northern LOL. Yeah, that's it--we're a freakin third-world state.

I have many fond memories of West Virginia.
My aunt lived in Dunbar/Charleston right by the Kanawha River.
She lived right by the river, so I used to watch
all the bardges and riverboats roll by, fireflies at night,
the whole "tire hanging from the tree over the river" routine.
My cousins live in Hurricane.

Hey tomk
I have fond memories of West Va too.
My dad was born in Alkol, W VA and his parents lived there until they died.
We would drive down from Detroit a couple of times each year.
They never had electricity, running water or paved roads in that holler.
But they had the best tomatoes in their garden,
lots of crawdads to fish in the creek
and plenty of fireflies to catch at night!

Charlotte,North Carolina
Born in Kannapolis,NC
When I was a kid we also lived in Long Beach,FL then moved to Long Beach,CA. Then back to Charlotte.
My parents must have loved long beaches!
I've been a Stones fan since the first time I ever heard one of their songs.
They were different and Mick seemed to have R&R blood pumping through him.
He was the master at presenting a song, sensual and suggestive, and had the moves as well.
They are still the greatest rock and roll band in the world.

I live in Greensboro NC, where the Stones have played 3x - didn't see '65 (i think) but did see '75 & '78.
Have seen many Stones shows in the South including both Hampton 81 shows, Clemson 89, Columbia 94, Charlotte 97, 99 & 06 (or was it 05?), Duke 05 & Charlottesville 05.

Southern California, less than 150 miles from the Mexican border, so I think I would qualify as a Southern U.S. fan.

Hey yall
I'm in Charlotte NC, since '82. Greensboro before that. Texas born, but moved frequently (Air Force family).
I like to think the Stones have a high regard for the American South.
Even if folks were pretty damn rude to them here in Charlotte the first time they were here.
The first Stones show I saw was Greensboro '75. I missed Charlotte '72, but have the show.
I think Charlotte '99 at the "old coliseum" here was a great one. Now there's a brand new arena here, and the boys broke it in, first act to play there.
Keith said, "You didn't have to build us a new one!"
