That's silly they are playing the same city and same venue that they did for HBO back in '03.

Well If the Stones are one thing it is that they are predictable. They have there routine down pat by now. All of you should know it by heart. Charge as much as they can. Tour most of tht US and get as much cash as they can . Then do a TV show. Then it is off to Asia and Europe . It's been happening for years now. I am suprised no one on here has figured them out yet ne

I seriously doubt they will do more than 6-7 of the same songs as they played on their last HBO special. If so, I will join you in bitching loud and long. For now, have faith!

Why not Chicago,Memphis,or The Forum?I expect that there will be a broadcast but,in the past,they have always changed cities.It wouldn't be the end of the world,though.

Yeah it would. Why brocast from the MSG again? I think a stadium concert would be much better. An Arena may come across better being there but The whole spectacle of a stadium show on ABB would be better. the HBO show was not in the same league as the Twickinum show last time.

Couldn't disagree more! The Twickenham-show was lame and uninteresting. MSG was the best stones-show I've seen since Hampton 81.

i check TM once a week or so for the MSG shows and lo and behold, yesterday a ticket pops up for the 20th in the 200s for $179. I was in the 100s last time for the same price, but this seems to be a tougher ticket and scalpers are asking the moon for them, so i bought it.

After i bought it i said to a buddy of mine, i just got a tocket for the 20th,i hope they dont end up putting it on HBO because then i am guaranteed of a greatest hits show.

no more than 2 hours later i log in here and the top message on the board is Jan 20 - HBO!!!

anyone want a ticket?

oh well, now i need to switch gears and get excited for sheryl Crow dueting on a song. i guess it wil be cool to have on tape and be able to always see a show i was actually at.

What are the chances they will do sway that night, i'd say slim to none and noe just left town. maybe they'll debut a gem like SHe was Hot...maybe not.

if you care to comment, dont lump me in with the complainers, i am just thinking out loud. any Stones show is great to me, some are just greater than others.

The only disappointment I would have imagined had I been at both the MSG 2003 shows (which I wasnt) was that unlike the normal trend on that tour, they played pretty much the same set both nights - using the first show basically as a dress rehearsal for the PPV show.

The televised shows tend to NOT be hits oriented - also they tend to have nice special guests like John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley, Taj Mahal, Josh Redman, Axl & Izzy, etc. And it usually boosts sales. A little.

i WAs at the first MSG show last time and it was definitely a dress rehearsal for the HBO show, all the more reasson to go to the first one instead since you can see the second one anyway.

Check the setlist last time on HBO not really a greatest hit show keep the ticket.

well..its a "pay channel" in that you have to subscribe to it, unlike free to air channels like Fox, CBS, ABc & NBC - am I right?

PPV seems to be the 'generic' all-purpose expression used by Americans on these sites for shows that arent shown on network TV thats available to everyone so blame them! LOL

Hampton' 81 wasnt strictly a PPV show either if I recall, but was shown on closed-circuit TV
