NO NO NO ...
this is wrong, this silly interpretation of Guernica.
sorry Ronnie, I know your heart is in the right place, but this is in extremely bad taste.

New artwork from Ronnie Wood would make a helluva cover for a new Rolling Stones album. (Hint. Hint). They'd catch holy hell from the rage harpies for trivializing Picasso's "Guernica" but after a fifty-six year career rooted in misogyny, cultural appropriation and trashing the political correctness of any given era, I'm guessing they could pull it off.

i like several of Ronnie's pieces showing the band at work, that he's done over the years..
why appropriate the Guernica, of all paintings, for your weird and silly big-ass print? its not out of a love for Picasso, but something else.. contrived marketing i think..
I agree.Quote

I think it's kind of cool. To each his own.

The response on this board, the few clueless aside, is gratifying.
In the village of Guernica, populated by mostly women and children because the men were away fighting Franco's fascist's troops, at around 4:30 p.m. on market day, Monday, 26 April 1937, warplanes of the German Condor Legion, commanded by Colonel Wolfram von Richthofen, bombed Guernica for about two hours.
The Germans, invited by Franco, used the opportunity to test and perfect the
methods used in their 1939-40 tour of Europe, later dubbed the "Blitzkrgeig Tour."
The London Times correspondent estimated about 5,000 civilians were killed in the Nazi's target practice.
The painting is I think the one time Picasso addressed anything topical, so horrific was the event. It is considered the modern equivalent of the Mona Lisa. Unlike Wood's excretions, it actually has meaning.
yet there are people, apparently thankfully few, who think that anything a stone does is kind of cool.
