That means copyright is running out by the end of the year and all we got was 5 Tracks a few years ago. I would have loved to see a boxset of all recorded multitracks from this Tour (Baltimore, 3x NY and Altamont)

Take time from your busy schedules today and toast a glass for the 50th anniversary of the Stones playing at Madison Square Garden in New York for what would become one of the greatest live rock albums of all time!
I once spoke with somebody who was there.Quote

As I was a little too young and not into the Stones at this point in my life (it would be a few years later by the time Sticky Fingers was released), I would love to hear from personal accounts from anybody on this board who were there at MSG what it was like to see the Stones.

Actually 70 years after the deaths of the authors.

Funny I kept thinking about one anniversary yesterday... Jimi Hendrix would have turned 77.

Outstanding! Happy Thanksgiving! Have you ever been able to see yourself from pics of the concert over the years? That would be great!

Yes, I see myself in a still photo while they are playing Satisfaction.
I also took some photos with my little Kodak Instamatic.
I'll look for them and post.
Happy Thanksgiving.

In the UK it is legal for anyone to release material that is at least 50 years old, was originally a broadcast (radio / TV) and is previously unreleased. Everything else is a bootleg.

No its not. Its terribly complicated, but 1) there is no such thing as UK Copyright anymore, as it now falls under EU copyright, and 2) there is a difference between copyright and publishing right, and 3) periods can simply be extended as long as the author is still alive.
Concerning 2: in the case of the Stones, the copyrights end 70 years after the death of the authors, and then 3 applies: when the copyrights end, the copyrights will fall into the hands of the first publisher, which is Promopub, which will fall into the hands of the beneficiaries of the authors (children etc), which the Stones have specially arranged 3 years ago during a meeting in Amsterdam.
So, with a few exceptions of material that the Stones have signed away (the Paris 1970 radio broadcast comes to mind), in the next 100 years or so no Stones material will be exempt of copyrights.

Nov. 27 was also Jimi Hendrix’s 27th (and notably last) birthday. He attended the show that night and hung out with the group backstage.

The 1969 tour is my alltime favorite. The band was touring the US for the first time in ages with a new guitarist which injected new life into the band.
It was the first tour where the audience was actually listening to the music with a longer 70+ minute set and not just a 30 minute set in front of screaming teenage girls.
I also think the songs were the perfect tempo rather than the sped up versions that started to creep in in 1972.
I lived an hour from NYC and MSG growing up and saw many fantastic shows their. Still my favorite venue for seeing a concert
I was too young to see the Stones in 1969 so I have been collecting ticket stubs from that tour and that is as close I will ever get to being there.
Here are my stubs from Baltimore and MSG in honor of the YaYa's show 50th anniversary concerts
