Which do feel is better? For me I like the live version of motel with Dave Matthews ( odd as I don't care for Dave Matthews), but that version I like better than one on Black n blue. I had always preferred motel to Fool to Cry but as the yrs pass Motel sliding back in my eyes & Fool to Cry moving up (Kinda evening themselves out). Push comes to shove I'd have to choose the Memory Motel.Keith probably hopes Fool to Cry not on any gig setlist so he doesn't fall asleep again eh. Was it the song or the drugs???
This seems to be one those questions of friends I literally get 50/50 on. Thus wondering what the true fans take on this question is. Who is the winner???
Ah James, those buggers are gonna come sniping at you again on this one! You just keep going as you please.
Oh, and the answer is Memory Motel by a very wide margin. I'd be surprised if it didn't outpoll Fool to Cry 4 to 1. Then again, sometimes they surprise ya!
In my opinion, and by the way I respect yours- but Dave Matthews has no right singing memory motel- he should stick to ripping off dylan tunes.... Memory Motel is my choice, although I like fool to cry, its just not as epic and Keith doesn't trade vocals.

Well, if they let him, then he had the right. But I agree, he's lame. He should have went shopping for a voice after the show.
I think jagger just did it for a pr move... I can imagine the cutting remarks he must of had for a gushing dave matthews after the whole chirade was over- Mick just cut the song and made the video to probably get some younger bucks and tails...
However, I do thing that FTC gets too much bad press on this board. I just love the guitar bit at the end of that song. I guess most people get put off by Jagger's falsetto vocals. He quite often does that and I'm never convinced (e.g. Emotional Rescue, Keys to Your Love etc). The one exception must be Miss You.
I think fool to cry is good, but I really love memory motel, the keith part, the whole feeling, the harmonie voices very good. I dont like it when Dave Mathews sings along who is he anyway always was very amased he was up there, he also sang on wild horses didnt he, he should take a horse and ride far away...
This should not even be a question. Memory Motel by a mile. Fool To Cry is one of their worst songs. Keith does save it with a great solo in the 1976 versions.
d because memory motel was the final song played at my wedding. regardless it's 100 times better than fool to cry. by the by, the dave matthews version SUCKS

No question: "Memory", one of the best songs in Rock history ever. The studio version of "Fool" is boring, the live versions, e.g. on "It's a Gas in Paris", very interesting.

Memory Motel is so big it coulda been Memory Hotel.
I like Fool to Cry, but I never understood why the daughter says "tell me all your troubles" only to say, "Daddy, you're a foooool to cry." Why does she want to hear about his troubles if she's only gonna . . .
You can sure-as-shit bet he never told her all his troubles a second time.
Fool to Cry is one of their worst songs ever IMO. Memory is a classic.Keith shines, great melody and lyrics. Dave Matthews singing on this one atrocious! A crime!
