Showing up for interviews with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other, acting like you don't give a shit .... Keith had to learn that from somebody.

Sure, Iraq. But I do think he had problems with the booze later on. Maybe it even had something to do with the break between him and Sinatra?
Here is a clip where he obviously is tanked. He presents Peter Falk (who is brilliant here) at a Sinatra roast:

Wow. That was fantastic!

He also had a small role in It's a Mad,Mad, Mad, Mad World as a taxi cab driver towards the end - one of my all time favorite movies..

Ha - another coincidence, this past Easter, I had the family over so that we could all watch that movie together with my dad since that's one of his favorites. We watched it every year when it would air on tv. My dad is sick :-(

I am sure Dino at the time that the stones would never amount to anything so he took a cheap laugh. I wonder if ever regreted or even remembered it 20 years later?

That's very nice - thank you!
I honestly don't remember who said what for the most part. I just know that I caused a big shitstorm by throwing wood on the fire instead of just shutting up.

My emotions were high as I just felt so sad for the poor lady. In my own weird way, I felt like I was fighting for her. I know that doesn't make any sense, but it was a really strong feeling at the time.

So thank you for your apology and please accept mine if I was offensive to you!
smileys with beer Cheers

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Very spiffy they are, quite spiffy indeed.
one of them is dating a Knight I understand.
Social climbers but the new money is like that, verrry insecure.
An island or two for, what's his name, the cute one with the lester; or chichester Pall or something; sliding african american folk music, no the other dick, or was it mick; dick jagger's tailor, curly haired rascal; quiet; nice ass, oops, do you believe these show people? Really, it's like I always say, and my father before me, and his father before him, and his father before him; one can't buy class, one has to be able to absorb the finer things; you don't want to put the fox before the horse old chap; see what I did there? haaaah.

You're in a nitpicking mood, Stanlove? Go ahead with that if it makes you feel better. I don't mind.

It's better than amazeballs which I unfortunately heard again recently. I was hoping that one had been buried.

That one is particularly annoying because people use it thinking other people will find it funny, but it's not.

As far as "brilliant" goes? I think it's a British thing. "Brilliant and Massive"
Maybe that should be the name of the next Stones UK Tour

The Rolling Stones Present the Brilliant Music and Massive Ticket Price Tour of 2019.

Brilliant doesn't bother me at all, i'm American and we barely use it. My British friends use it all the time though, so maybe that's why Stanlove hates but I'm not sure where he's from.

A good observation, Wonderboy. Dino, in some way, was probably a role model for Keith. Maybe that is why he took the dismissal so hard?

Yeah trying living with California kids
‘It’s like’ ‘And I’m like’ ‘and I’m all’.
Me: She SAID. He SAID. I THOUGHT.
And then I hear myself: ‘Awesome Dude’

They speak like that on the East Coast too.

Your "Me" line of She SAID, He SAID reminded me of the subtitles for the Jive guys in Airplane.

"Laid that sumbitch down like a mthfkr, sh*t"
subtitle "and then he landed the plane, golly"

Elle and her fellow aussie model, Miranda Kerr, are two of the biggest golddiggers in the world. But I don't let them influence my opinion of the rest of you.

Discourse particles (or markers), overused in colloquial speech (spoken language) are, of course, universal. Usually it doesn't bother me at all.
But I must say it puzzles me when academics use them frequently.

I recently saw a review of a book that was described as "unputdownable". WTF. I think it was an author who came up with that one too. So sad.
