Sure you know, Meise; but there has been many newbies here lately.
I didnt address it to you.

It seems to be a wide ocean, wider than the Atlantic, vis-a-vis
tolerance in lyrics & cencorship between USA And Europe.

It's not that myself and others who don't like this line are prudes, it's just that it doesn't fit in this song. "Giving head to Steve McQueen" and all the other examples cited are fine, because they were in songs that were deliberately crude and sexual throughout. Fine, great, I love those songs. But that line stands out like a sore thumb in This Place is Empty because the rest of the song has a very mellow, melancholy, romantic vibe to it.

once again, ain't it funny how differently we hear things.
i don't find anything crude or unromantic about the eroticism in this track;
the line appeals to me and fits the utterly intimate mood just right,
like those arpeggios that are so sturdy you can feel his fingers.

"What do you want - what?!"

There are two things that make Empty something special special.

First: it is (sould be) a ballad, but it has a very fast tempo. The metronome must be around 95 or something.

Second: when you are just about to say, Oh No, not a Cheesy Ballad Again! there it comes, bare your breasts ... Super!

I wonder, how can you tell a girl more delicatly to bring out her tits that ask her to bare your breasts? It's soft, caring and a heartfelt statement, and Keith is the man to tell her. Can't y'all see hin in the situation? I think it's very romantic, and not dirty at all.

All the songs that are out there about popping a cap and fragging somebody's ass and shooting a 9 mm., and people are going off about the use of the word "breast"?

Holy hardcore, batman. Let's get serious.

John Donne, William Shakespeare and Lord Byron are all rolling in their graves at the notion that modern audiences who can be offended by the use of "breast" probably don't say one word about acts of violence suggested in lyrics.

Perhaps he should've said cut your tits off with a razor, or shoved a knife right down your throat? Would that be less offensive?

And for those folks who confuse Keith the person with the onstage persona or the character in whose voice the song is sung, remember that the voice of the song is not necessarily the voice of the song writer. Keith is not really "the worst," Mick doesn't hang out in a movie house on 42nd street, and Charlie doesn't play with fire, they just sing songs about these things.

Actually, Mick says giving head to Angeline on Flicks, as in Angelina Jolie I'm guessing.

I'm not one for changing the lyrics, but that one caught me by surprise, made me laugh.

The line think admits a certain vulnerability...not pigish at all...
