I'm saddened that he's got health problems - the Fillmore album with Humble Pie is brilliant, and so too is Frampton Comes Alive, but to me it's always the Humble Pie album.

I also like his appearance on the Glass Spider live album by Bowie, which you can find on the Loving The Alien box set.

Be well Peter!
I like his music and guitar playing and always liked his Jumping Jack Flash cover version!

Course, I was primarily there for the opener, J Geils Band.

The J Geils Band is a powerhouse! I saw them open for Bob Seeger on his 2015 tour after only knowing 'Centerfold' and 'Freeze-Frame' and loved every second of it! Their frontman's energy gives Mick a run for his money!

Speaking of the J.Geils Band, thought it was very odd of them to continue as the J.Geils Band without J.Geils!
Was fortunate to see them open for the Stones in 1981, and wish I would have seen them more in their prime back in the day.

Because he so totally blew his cred, people do tend to forget Peter Frampton has an impressive background as a musician. Post Humble Pie, his first solo LP 1971's excellent Wind of Change was recorded wile he was doing sessions for All Things Must Pass and features Ringo, Klaus Voorman, and Billy Preston. Frampton was recruited and personally rehearsed by George for the Concert for Bangla Desh when George was unsure if Clapton or Jesse Ed Davis would show up (they did). Frampton did session work for Apple and Beatle related artists (Harrison produced Doris Troy, Harry Nilsson, Ringo), a couple early John Entwistle solo LPs, Tim Hardin, etc. Frampton's Camel is also a strong early 70's guitar rock LP. I personally didnt care for the big Live LP- it seemed to point him in the lightweight bouncy AOR direction that made him cringeworthy. Also noted that many years later the first session Bill and Charlie did together after Bills departure was for an instrumental track of Peter Framptons. (And plays with Keith on Alexis Korners "Bootleg Him" LP)

Peter Frampton Returns To The Road With ‘Never Say Never’ Tour

From a long honourable line of artists who retracted their 'finale' tours.

I'm sure there were earlier ones, but the WHO's LAST in 1988 comes to mind.

Thankfully the Stones and Dylan never stooped to these antics.

Frampton not being in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame is just crazy!

I mean there is a lot of drift wood that seems to make its way into that Hall every year.

For Frampton not to be there seems incredibly odd. I mean he still has one of the top selling live Rock albums of all time.

And its not just his solo career. You also have his time in Humble Pie....
