for his 'First World Problems'?
Am I wrong or it's 80% the same of 'Sympathy For The Devil', as on 'Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!'?

Blatant rip off , if you hear the opening of the song it sounds like a Fender Rhodes piano playing the E, D, and A notes . The only thing missing is the o o sounds

I still have a hard time hearing The Last Time in Bittersweet Symphony but this is blatantly obvious

I believe the issue with "The Last Time" and The Verve is that The Verve lifted the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra version of "The Last Time" (that whole violin bit).

my understanding was that the verve asked abkco for permission and were granted it to lift the instrumental part, so the verve paid the royalties and an agreed contract was in place, why then would abkco have the right to sue just on the basis the song sold well. or did the verve overstep the mark regarding the arrangement.

That skipping 'violin bit' motif was the verves creation. They merely sampled a small chordal part of the ALOO recording.

The only thing missing is the melody and the lyrics aka the song.
