Well, I for one am glad to see shameful posts speculating about Keith's mortality justifiably DELETED.

Stupid post anyway

Make your own board and say whatever the hell you want there. And buy my Fresno ticket that I am not getting a refund on because Keith is still alive.

Harm: You're bloody right, bloke! Discussing M Taylor on a Stones board seems awfully silly. Why don't we all go to the "I'm Drunk" thread and do some serious typing instead.

Free speech is fine but.............

If a "fan" listened to MOST of what The Stones had done in the last 30 years and hated it I would suggest they are not REALLY a fan but had rights to an opinion.

If a "fan" had NOT listened to MOST of what the Stones did in the last 30 years and claimed it all sucked then...............BV is probably right.

Free Speech has never meant that we can say what we want whenever we want. Furthermore, it is a term that applies to goverments. This is BV's board. We have freedom to use it or not to. It's his rules. He could delete every post with the word "fathom" in it if he so desired.

Thank you Josh. The term 'free speech" is much too important to be thrown around here so easily on something so gauche.

Nice word choice (gauche)...people talking about free speech incorrectly is one of my pet peeves.

thank you Josh2131 and Chelsea Drugstore!
hallelujah: some people *do* still understand the term.
and multi-thanks to the good Bjornulf too, of course.

Free speach is not about insulting or hurting people. If you make a headline saying "Keith Richards is dead" then I just delete the post. Immediately. Very simple. Because it is not true. If you want to discuss such a subject then you should make a headline which does not worry or upset people. But before you do that, imagine how you would like to see a discussion about your own death in the public. Deatht is not a tabloid street subject. Certainly you can discuss it but not in a tabloid way like people do here a lot.

Imagine the person who is closest to you. I am sure you have a friend, mother, father, brother or somebody. Imagine somebody is calling and saying this person is dead. OK? Not funny. Not about free speach.

Same with offending and insulting posts. Not about free speach. I will normally delete any posts about free speach and complains about the way I run IORR, because the policy is not up for discussion. I take input but I am not a schoolkid. I know what I am doing. And I don't run IORR by the rule of the mob or by polls. So even if 1000 people tell me to allow insults and stupid talk, I will not. There are several hundred thousand people on IORR every month and I know that 99% of these are normal people with normal manners, and they do dot want to live in a zoo.

So if you want to insult or upset or make riots then why don't you move to a place where it is accepted? Not here for sure.

A few things:

1.- Did you know that you'd make an excellent politician? Politicians often make their politics according to the Gallup-researches. You don't, AND THAT'S THE WAY TO GO DUDE!!!! Great.

2.- Can I use your above statement as a signature?

Thanx Bjørnulf.
I have no idea why people use so much energy on writing bullshit about the band or former members. I'm reading a lot here, and it's getting more and more boring just because certain people always mess up the subjects which are discussed. I would't be surprised if they are on all kinds of other web-sites, doing the same thing. It's just the way they behave. It's a shame and sad.....

Re: Free speech

Good choice BV. There are obvious people who come here simply to piss people off or say stupid things about the Stones without reasonable explanation. The Taylor is god, Ronnie sucks thing was beginning to ruin this board and there are too many great opinions and great stories to read about the Stones and experiences with them to keeping reading the same crap over and over again.

I'd love to see a comment from the MT mafia.
Last couple of days have been interesting.... lets hope threads can move on and stay interesting.... there's so much more to enjoy.....

Let's see -Ablett is such a "NICE" person, JJ is so knowledgeable, I'm learning
so much from our discussions, Let's all go pay $400 a ticket and say nothing
negative about the glimmers, and don't bring up past members cause the guys
around here know for a fact that those ex-members will NEVER be asked to sit-in.

How's that guys??? MLC

Re: Free speech

You can argue that the prices are too steep. I think they are. Negative things about the Glimmers are OK if you don't like them or if they did something you didn't like. I can think of a thing or two. Maybe they will have some ex-members with them again for a little cool "something", but until the day comes there's no point in discussing it. It's wishful thinking until it's confirmed. Let's deal with facts.

MLC, thanks for the tribute.....
At least the pennies dropped at last....

We all know the prices are too high but I gotta suffer Rod Stewart for an xmas do at £49 a pop so their all the same!

I can't ever see there being a little event for ex members etc. I regard the Stones as wanting to stay 'current' and not wallow in the past..... might explain the lack of rarities released etc.

MLC, read my posts and you will see that I don't only write good things about them. I have been following the band since the 60's when I was just a youngster. I never claim to know everything like you seem act on this board. I just find it somewhat ridiculous that you can bash a new album after hearing only two songs from it and your game of name calling to anyone who has a different opinion that yours becomes tiresome.

Re: Free speech

Well - JJ I like you have been following the Stones since the 60's,
you sure have your opinions, (just like me)

and I think I know alot about this band since I've followed them ever since
their 1st record!!! do I know everything?? never said that!!

And again, TELL ME other songs from the new release that's worth listening to,
you keep harping on the fact that i've only heard two songs and that's not
enough to form a opinion (in your opinion) Well???
