NEW YORK — Mick Jagger likes a buzz. A natural buzz.

The Rolling Stones frontman, who will tour America next spring with his iconic band, says live shows give him a rush that can’t be matched and is the reason that at 75, he still loves touring.

“When you go out in front of all those people you get an enormous rush of chemicals in your body — your own chemicals, not chemicals you’ve put in,” he said laughing.

“Let’s face it, it is a huge buzz. Must be like playing football or something,” he said.

Thanks Lien.

Still baffling the Stones only have three Grammys after all these years, and one of them is for a blues covers album!
Midnight Rambler alone deserves a Grammy!

As for the the new album: "..I just hope we’re going to come up with some new stuff".

We hope so too!thumbs up

The big news is that Aretha concert film finally coming out (sorta) - Amazing Grace. In her limited wisdom, she blocked it from coming out a year or so ago. I see it is playing for one week only in New York and Los Angeles (Laemmle Pasadena/Santa Monica) - obligatory viewing.

it would be kind of odd if the Stones did have lots of Grammys. Im not exactly sure why but it would be.

rock bands usually dont get them do they? its usually solo performers..

True.
But you know, if there's a way to turn a thread into a negative, facts don't usually slow some down.

True. The people with the most Grammys are mostly individuals, people like Aretha, Allison Krauss, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Vince Gill, Eric Clapton. And you can see most of them straddle several genres with multiple categories, which boosts their chances. The only band with serious Grammy bling is U2 with about two-dozen wins. Anyway, it was a silly question in a rather blah interview.

I think we've been through this before, but the Beatles have been nominated for Grammy's many times, and have won quite a few times.
Many were after the band broke up ("Lifetime Achievement") etc., but several while they were an active band - Sgt. Peppers Album of the Year, etc.
Never realized that LOVE won for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album as well as best Surround Sound Album in 2008!

It could be that 'performance' marks the last occasion of the Stones being something a bit anti-establishment and controversial.. you know, classical 'bad behavior'... A bit of their middle finger attitude left. Can't remember any ever since.

Of course, Charlie is the wildest there...grinning smiley

But the impression I get from the interview is that it is basically "fun" to be Mick Jagger and do what he does whatever it is. There is no a struggling artist or a man working his asses off to get the bread there... basically he is like any retired person in his seventies having accomplished everything in his life without any need to prove anything to anyone any longer but just do what one pleases... With Mick that acquired freedom just happens to be still damn financially and artistically productive... And having still people like us closely following his doings with our expectations and even 'demands' from him...

yes for sure. and he emphasizes in the interview how focused he has to be, so he can feel good about the shows, when on tour..

I believe Charlie is on record as remarking on that as well, with his comments about "we risk reputation, which is everything'..

I found this article interesting about the reasons for the long delay in the release of the Amazing Grace doc:

''it’s a shame we haven’t released more new music''

Agree with you, Mick....
