Masaki Rush, wife of Otis Rush announced that on September 29, 2018 Mr. Rush, one of the most influential Chicago blues artists of all time passed away due to complications from a stroke which he initially suffered in 2003.

yesterday it was a hoax...today his family announced his death. I used to see Otis all the time in the 90s. I lived close enough to those clubs to walk home. I used to gig across the street from those spots now and then I would have to be dragged to my own gig.

Sad news.
Otis Rush of the great of the 6O's along with Magic Sam, Buddy Guy and many other.
All your love (I miss loving) is a real standard.

Very sad to hear. One of THE all time great blues players. West side Chicago sound Otis helped make famous influenced sooo many guitar players. Otis was the full package with searing vocals to match that guitar.

One of the all-time greats. Love some of his later material as well as the early classics and was lucky enough to catch him live once. Hadn't been able to play for a while due to a stroke, but what a back catalogue!
