I recall reading that "Suzie Q" was done in one take and was quickly forgotten about thereafter.....

That was a cover, though.

What about Slave?

I sometimes wonder about that. The final bars or so seam pretty worked out. Guitar, bass and sax pretty much playing the same ascending lick. I could be wrong.

It's never been a jam.
I know it's been said for a while.
But No!

"Songs recorded on the spot"

It doesn't really apply to the Stones are they are/were known for recording a rough version of a song, putting it in the fridge and putting it out years later.

For example "Silver Train" was released in 1973 but the 1st draft of it is from 1970. "Black Limousine" released in 1981, demoed in 1973.

Yeah the Stones like to freeze their songs, the way some men freeze their semen...

Original take was called Mess with Fire and the tape was of course lost in a studio fire, or so I have read...

Wondering about 2120 S, Michigan Blvd. It has that feel, but I don’t know the story.

Stoned was obviously recorded in one take when they had a few more minutes of studio time.

I'm just joking, as there are two versions of that tune:

Short version: [www.youtube.com]

Long version: [www.youtube.com]

Does Happy qualify?
It was basically recorded same day it was written (I think)
