I for one would like to see an album like this released.

From the relevant track talk for "Mona (I Need You Baby)", accordingly that song:

Phil Good
Quote
Mathijs
That sure is Brian on rhythm guitar.

Mathijs

That's right.

From the horse's mouth, Bo Diddley: "The only guitarist who got my rhythm guitar parts right was - apart from Peggy Lee Jones - Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones"!

I'd say release A DEGREE OF MURDER soundtrack and, if anyone has a copy, include as bonus tracks the 1969 demo session after he left the Stones.

A bit of a gyp.

The thread title indicates there will be such an album next year.

But there won't.

The best memorial albums are the ones he played on.

The songs that get ignored in concerts.

Because Rolling Stones fandom thinks it's all about 1969, 1972, 1978.

Gimme England's Newest Hitmakers/Rollin Stones No. 1, 12X5_Now!/Rolling Stones No. 2 any day.

Keep the rest.

Yeah, I jumped in my chair, too. The thread title should have clarified that this was only a wet dream...

Seriously though, would it kill them to release such an album? Seems like they have released a gazillion compilation albums. One more couldn’t hurt especially if they had some unreleased tracks with Brian tacked on.

I think it would be most fitting to basically limit the contents of such an album to Brian Jones compositions and outtakes that showcase his talent, including his 'A Degree Of Murder' soundtrack.

How about The Stones play the entire setlist (in a small club) of the Marquee club from July 12,1962 and release that as a tribute!?
