When I got the new Neil Young album I have played it over and over its a MAsterpiece. Then to top it off he includes a dvd with 96hz option to play it! I hate to compare him to others but this one is one of his best ever, wished the was the same for BB. Isnt Neil Young older that Stones?

No, he's slightly younger. Did you enjoy Greendale?

John r

I saw greendale performed twice at the Hammersmith.

Solo and acoustic.

An unbelievable show(s).

Listen to Bandit from that solo acoustic tour. It's readily available from Dublin.

Neil will be sixty in November. I saw Greendale (Electric) four times. Live is much better than the studio album. Crazy Horse = Sonic Bliss. The sound cannot be properly captured on tape - must be experienced live (like the Stones).

Prairie Wind is a good album - Mellow, country (recorded in Nashville). Enjoyable.

In Rolling Stone:

Stones 4,5 - NY 3,5

Neils shows has always been very exciting if you judge it by the setlists.
Just saw a dvd with CSN&Y from 1974 and Neil is brilliant there (playing 3 unreleased songs).

Sorry to piss all over your parade folks, but I think Prairie Wind is Neil's worst ever album. I can well understand that his personal circumstances might have induced sentimentality, but does he have to release the results? He's released poor albums in the past, but they've always had something to redeem them, one killer song that has made listening to the whole thing worth while. Prairie Wind has none whatsoever. I'm not sure what's worse; whether it's the music - lame, pedestrian, predictable and dreary - or the lyrics - so bad, so clumsy, so utterly stupid they'd actually be funny coming from someone else. Quite why this has a lot of usually very sensible people having to reinvent the superlative when praising this is beyond me. It's shit. Avoid.

disagree entirely. I think it's the most solid collection of songs he's released since "Ragged Glory"

Most of the recent albums may have had one or two killer songs but a lot of what by Neil's standards could be deemed filler
