For me, Tokyo #3 2014 is not only the best show among those I saw between 2012 and 2018, but also unbeatable of all the Stones gigs I have attended since my first one in 1989. Not a few claim it was the single greatest RS show that happened in Japan, I just couldn’t believe myself that such a strong performance was achieved by them as late at a timing in their carreer as this.

That evening, the Stones gave everything, and then some, and then some more..! Towards the end of Satisfaction, Mick was totally immersed in his singing, looking obsessed. Every one of us who was there was awestruck in disbelief by Mick who kept shouting in an almost unstoppable mode, “Ai yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi...........!!!” When everything was over, Mick Taylor was seen sending applause to his boss.

That was by far their last Japanese show, and they could have gone out with a bang if they won’t set foot in Japan ever after!

Well, well, well... doesn't THIS sound intriguing. smoking smiley

Sounds like you had one of those 'Goosebump-Hair Standing On Your Arms'- moments, didn't you RisingStone.

Good for ya!

Does anybody know some good-quality bootlegs (audio ànd video, if possible)?
Was it a Pay-per-view show, anywhere?

Indeed. I believe every one of the 50,000 who was there did have THAT sensation!

Unfortunately, no, it wasn’t a Pay-per-view show. Wish it was.

This is one show that bv didn’t put his review on the reports page. I’m curious how he felt it.

It should have been London 1, 2012 with Bill Wyman.
But I couldn´t make it.

Out of 14 shows 2013-2018 I would choose

London Hyde Park I 2013
Berlin Waldbühne 2014
Arnhem Gelredome 2017
Berlin Olympiastadion 2018

1. Quebec City 2015, because we were so close to the stage and the catwalk
2. Marseille 2018, bad seats but such a thrill to go to the south of France to see them (I'm from Quebec)

Both O2 shows 2012.

Adelaide 2014.

Both Perth shows 2014.

Brisbane 2014.

In that order.

Having seen five of them in every European tour, I will try to pick the top three in two separate categories: emotionally and musically:

Emotionally:

1. Without any doubt, London O2 25th Nov. 2012:
- It was an absolute miracle to see them back after five years, in top physical and musical form...
- Lights up and Keith jumping in front of the stage playing some unheard chords, what is it ? I Wanna Be Your Man
- Gimme Shelter, I had tears in my eyes
- Having Bill on stage on more time
- I couldn't believe Mick Taylor will really play until seeing him live
- Plus my only lifetime opportunity to see Jeff Beck on stage

2. Rome, Circo Massimo 2014:
- Back after another two years, suspecting it might be the last one
- Unique venue, beautiful
- Streets Of Love with the most beautiful arrangement: Keith on accoustic, Mick Taylor on electric, 70 000 people backing vocal

3. Amsterdam 2017

Musically:

1. Paris 2nd, 2017. Had great spots to see/listen the show and man, what a concert. Rambler, SFM , Ride 'em On Down, Slipping Away, Angie...
2. Prague 2018. Excluding Mick's voice problems, the band delivered a great musical performance from the first to the last minute. No highlights, only consistent performance. Never seen Keith so focused on intros.
3. Can't decide between Amsterdam 2017 and Rome 2014. The band itself was better in 2017 but having Taylor and a great open stadium sound in Rome made a great musical atmosphere.

And counting cool smiley ...

Cheers,
grizzly

A tough call. But, I’d have to go with Auckland , New Zealand. The last show with Mick Taylor and one of his best performances on a 14-1/2 minute version of “Midnight Rambler”.

It felt a bit “final”, as if everyone knew it would be Taylor’s last curtain call with the band.

Were there any indications of that at all? For me it came totally out of left field when he wasn't invited for the Zip Code-tour.

I am surprised that very few people picked any South American shows in this poll. I would assume it is largely because few members of this board attended many of those shows. Buenos Aires had to b great. That is my main Stones goal at this point. From my Stones bucket list.

Out of the 8 shows i've seen between 2013 and 2018 my top three would be;

1) Hyde Park II (2013) - Packed with many memorable moments, including one of the best versions of Street Fighting Man, and a killer Midnight Rambler with Mick Taylor.

2) Lucca (2017) - Everything came together this night, a fantastic performance in a spectacular location with a palpable atmosphere.

3) Adelaide (2014) - Great atmosphere in the packed out oval, with a powerful set to match the anticipation for the delayed dates.

It was easy to pick my top two, but I could have easily have picked a couple for third place, with Marseille from this year being a clear stand out. Regardless, the best Stones show is always the next one!

Kansas City 2015 Zip Code was both my best and worst show. Guess those two negate each other and make it a medium show.. So, hmm, next choice would be...Buffatroitville 2015?

1. Paris #3 2017 Special night for me as Keith put my t-shirt on his head .

2. Stockholm 2014 :Great energy and BK's last real show (as well as his last indoor, the Brown Sugar solo still rambles between the walls there...

3. Warszawa 2018: Another keeper, Keith responded to me shouting BTMMR with the very same words...grinning smiley

4. Stockholm 2017: A special nocturnal show, felt almost apocalyptical, particular during Sympathy and GS. Best Sweet Virginia ever.
