Front row of the balcony for Vancouver cool smiley

How were ticket prices up there? He was spendy down here. Not out of control though.

The balcony was $104 after fees (front to back of the section priced the same). From there it went 200-400ish. How does that compare to Seattle?

Row S on the main floor was about $160 a ticket. I got ADA tickets which are elevated so I don't have to stand through the show (I can't). Never seen Nick do a bad show & I've seen a lot.

I'm far from a religious man, but the last time I saw him felt like a religious experience. Looking forward to this next one.

It's like Springsteen up to about 1981

Last night at the OVO Hydro, Glasgow.

Another passionate, give-it-all performance by Nick the preacher. So much dedication. And so engaging. A mission that lasted for two and a half hours, an emotionally draining experience (in a good, positive way).
For those who haven’t seen Nick live, give him a try. you’d be converted.

In the meantime, there was a drama going on outside the arena. A large group was protesting against Nick’s recent statement of his neutral stance about Israel, waving Palestinian flags and carrying placards and banners, like “DEEP LYRICS SHALLOW MORALS” etc. A night that reminded concertgoers that a music event could not stay clear of political reality. I won’t step into this further here.

My seat in the upper tier, section 330 at Leeds was a very reasonable. £50 + fees

As I am recovering from a knee replacement operation, I contacted 'accessibility' at Leeds arena and, walking with a stick, I was upgraded, along with my partner to freestanding chairs at the front of a concourse overlooking section 102, A great view.

They had wheelchairs to hire if I had needed one.

I thought I'd share this as I would not have known about it... and I imagine I am not the only one at the knee surgery stage smiling smiley

The show was phenomenal. Impossible to describe how thrilling it was. I think my section was there only one not on its feet by the end!

This concert can now be watched on YouTube (it is blocked in certain countries, though).

Saw Nick and the Seeds kick off their US tour Tues. in Boston.
Maybe the best I’ve ever seen him. Just stunning. If he plays anywhere near you - GO.
Sadly, opener St. Vincent was a last minute cancellation due to illness, but looks like she did play NY last night.
He is just SO intense.

Yes.
I've had many people rave to me about him over the years and now I know why...
Amazing performance. Intense, dramatic, powerful presentation yet a joyous and cathartic experience. Wild. Real live music, real emotion. Astounding actually.

Your advice above is sound. "If he plays anywhere near you - GO."
The band is brilliant. I loved it all and left with a huge smile on my face carrying out the new album on vinyl and a new T-Shirt.

While I've listened to his music for a good while, last night in The Anthem in DC was my first Nick Cave concert, and I agree, his live performances elevate his already dramatically powerful music to a higher level.

I'm really impressed by his staging and audience interaction style. For a performer with the nerve and the energy, the "barricade" for the GA floor crowd being just his 4 ft(?) wide walkway itself, running the width of the stage, and it being only 5 ft high at most, really put the guy intensely engaged with those front ranks of fans. (I myself was in an upper box seat but the closest box to the stage on one side) That physical engagement with the crowd, plus his clothes and style being not dissimilar to an evangelical tv or revival preacher's, then paired with his music and vocals, yes, indeed does generate the feel of a secular spiritual gathering. A near-religious event minus only the religion itself, thankfully (I'm not a religionist, I don't believe in magic, ghosts, disembodied spirits, angels, demons, gods, or sons or spokespersons or warriors of gods. Superstition ain't the way.)

For the net effect, I agree with the similarity to early Springsteen concerts... I saw three shows in his 1978-1981 period. Bruce's barrage of rock n roll made his early period shows more powerful than Nick's, but there are similarities. That feeling that something communal and moving is happening in the room. Which for me is one of the great things about the best concerts. They're gatherings that celebrate the human spirit in as near to ecstatic levels as we can get, but in secular form, nobody needs or is obliged to pretend it's all thanks to an invisible man in the sky.

(Speaking of grounded, literally, in the real, Nick spit on the stage several times, which I don't recall seeing in youtube performances. Is that what he commonly does or was last night unusual? Just curious. He didn't sound congested to my ears.)

I left happy and with a WILD GOD $15 cd and a quite simple yet fascinatinely effective $25 tour poster.

Just came back from Nick Cave solo in Zürich, where he kicked of his solo tour with three shows. Just piano and Colin Greenwood (Radiohead) on bass. Absolute stunning show. He is doing a tour in Europe, if you have the chance to see him, don't miss this.
