are they really going to break the 14 shows rule? Or are there more shows rumored right now than actually will take place?

There are plenty of hotels in the Chicago area that are easy commutes from Soldier Field by public transportation. Hotels by O’Hare airport are within 1 hour by subway, with a short bus ride or walk to the stadium, for example.

The Chili Peppers are going on tour next year. Have they ever warmed up for the Rolling Stones?

There are no “14 shows” rules, it is just what our Boys/Heroes want to do them self. Or what they feel like doing or feel capable of. We still have think they are not that young anymore. Most people talk about what Mick is doing on stage, but in imagine what Charlie does!!! He is the whole show hammering away, without almost any rest!! thumbs upspinning smiley sticking its tongue out

So, when do any of you think the announcement will be made? No one has talked much about that for a few pages.

plexi

Some are saying Friday, then again a couple of the venues have hinted next week.

Friday not traditionally the greatest day for press releases. Lately the Stones have been announcing their tours early on the week (Mon-Wed), if I'm not mistaken.
Im hearing Monday Nov. 19th announcement...Rumor only

With the holiday next week and huge traveling time, in reality in can only be Monday of next week

I was imagining what Charlie does, and I think @ 8 pm every night,
we should all lift our arms and keep them up and moving for 2 hours until 10.
Let’s get fit w/ Charlie.
Is that what a drummer trainer does?
P.S.
New Orleans will be off the hook. That’s where they are going to do whatever they want and jam, I think.

Hello how are you? I am from Buenos Aires. I wanted to know if anyone can tell me if it is easy to get tickets for the first rows since my idea is to go to the 2 shows in New York. I also ask if the websites are secure like ticketmonster to buy in resale in case of not getting the location. Thank you very much for reading and endure the stones!

If you want those specific seats and they don't do a Pit you will likely need to go the Platinum/VIP package route.

Keep in mind the stage is very high at this venue, and the front rows cant see the top of the stage very well. I made that mistake there already by sitting too close to the stage and not seeing the band unless they came right up to the front of stage.

Does the Statue of Liberty mean a show in MSG or Brooklyn? NJ is not NY.

The Statue of Liberty is actually in NJ. So Metlife Stadium.

The stage is the band's, not the venue's.

CAN'T BELIEVE THEY AREN'T COMING TO TORONTO WHICH IS CANADA'S LARGEST METRO AREA AT 6.5 MILLION PEOPLE AND THE 5TH LARGEST METRO AREA IN NORTH AMERCIA.

IT'S A BIG MIDDLE FINGER FROM THE STONES TO A CITY THAT HAS SHOWN THEM MUCH LOVE OVER THE YEAR! WELL, MIDDLE FINGER RIGHT BACK TO YOU MICK!

We got 2 shows in 2013 and Buffalo got a show in 2015.

Also, they are not playing in baseball stadiums this time. Clearly, they have chosen NFL (which doesn't play in the summer) and a couple of others (Rose Bowl). This could be cost/date related, it's not simply a coincidence.

I'll be going to New York and probably Chicago shows.

Nah.
Liberty Island is an enclave of the borough of Manhattan... NYC.
Oddly, the waters that surround it are New Jersey's though.

Yes

I saw them open for the Stones along with Buddy Guy at the Rose Bowl in 1994

This would make a mighty fine litho!

So far we have seen no haphazard/scribbled No Filter yellow stuff and are blasting us with the classic tongue everywhere!
And while the tour itself might be an extension of No Filter w/same great stage, etc., looking forward to some changes - starting w/ the classic tongue is promising.

Dying to get the dates etched in stone...can make an educated guess, but will be nice to see it all confirmed! Currently in stage one of tour preparations in reconnaissance mode scouting out hotels, etc.
The fact that Phoenix, L.A., and SF are back to back to back makes this fairly easy, but can't count my chickens before they're hatched.
As it stands, leaning towards Phoenix and L.A. for sure, with SF being a maybe at 75%.

Liberty Island is an exclave - "a portion of territory of one state completely surrounded by territory of another or others, as viewed by the home territory."

Yup. same for me....no hotels needed in LA (my home town) or Phoenix (Staying with a friend) which means only have to worry about Santa Clara should I choose to attend that show.

Pasadena Rose Bowl '94 when they were still young pups, and still riding the initial wave of massive success with Give it Away and Under the Bridge Downtown (from '91).
Being an L.A. band, they were well received - I have vivid memories of seeing them play Under the Bridge in such a massive setting. Buddy Guy was also an opener.thumbs up

You are correct legally, although if you look at a map it is much closer to NJ, but the person who said the statue represents the US, not NY or NJ is correct. It means they're coming to the US. It has nothing to do with whether they are playing in NY or NJ.

I think it's as simple as the Statue of Liberty being a symbol of the United States and the Stones letting people know they will be touring the US. I don't think there's much more to read into it. But I dig it, great little video to build hype and speculation
