MLC every time you make this same statement about Taylor I respond and you then you are gone. Then you come back make the same statements over and over... Here I pasted this from the last time you said the Stones would have ended up like the Dave Clark 5.

Were any of you around back in the late 60's ?? The Stones could have
easily fallen off if they didn't pick the "right" person to replace Brian!!
Numerous bands back then dropped out of sight who were Hot.
Dave Clark Five, the Kinks dropped considerably, Hermans Hermits. Yardbirds
The acts that were making it in Concert, Hendrix, Cream, Fleetwood Mac,Stones
Led Zep, Deep Purple, J. Tull, Pink Floyd, etc.
had something in common - a Ass-kicking Lead Guitarist when you didn't have
stage props to entertain, there was a sort of a competative feel going,
who could put on the best show "musically"

Sure I remember, but I don't think the Stones would have ended up like the Dave Clark 5 or any of those bands you mentioned if not for Taylor. They had just recorded Let it Bleed and Beggars Banquet (without Taylor, just Keith playing most of the guitars). They could have called it a day after that and still be rock legends. I love Mick Taylor, probably my favorite guitarist but I don't think that he is the reason the Stones are what they are. I have read you post this same thing numerous times. Do you think if Clapton, Beck or any of the other rumored guitarists at time had joined the Stones they would have just ended up as another Herman Hermits, I don't.
