Tumbling what?

The commenters on that Instagram post are hilarious. Can the meaning of “sixes and sevens and nines” in a song with the word “dice” in the title not be any clearer?

The English phrase "all sixes and sevens" means one is in a total state of confusion, disarray, and disorder.

The hardest Rolling Stones songs to learn are weirdly the ones with the least chord changes. I'm pretty sure this is why all this stuff is so genius. It's just one wild wave and vibe...

What Bye Bye J says - 100%!

But I am worried about Ryan playing "Torn & Frayed" - the chords are off.

See you tomorrow, NOLA.
Exile on Main Street is such a crazy record to get to explore with such a funk machine of a band, good friends and this electric city poem they call NOLA. What an honor.

Mixed emotions.

Only time I saw Ryan Adams was at the 2003 MSG concert (remember that the Garden was still half empty during his set- the floor was completely empty), and was not impressed at all.

I don't get the point of the concert. Surely Exile does not need to be "honored". And if we need to "honor" Exile, Ryan Adams would not be the artist I would choose to do the job. Smell the smell of a commercial operation.

That said, who am I to criticize Ryan Adams for wanting to play exile? I have been playing stones covers for years!

So all the best!

By the way, his reinterpretation of Brown Sugar of some time ago as slow song was truly inspired and even if I do not know Mullins and Higgins, any line up including Cyril Neville and John Medeski is a great one as rule of law-

“Holy shit we did it.” —- Ryan’s relief after Soul Survivor.

Solid show with impressive and unexpected hard rocking of many songs — Casino Boogie for example —- and slow-grooves of and Rip This Joint & Happy. I would say 1/2 the songs exceeded 10 minutes (I videoed all) with long jams, which I just loved thanks to the horns.

Great show, 3 encore songs, definitely Ryan’s show and not just a tribute-band gig. A redeeming performance from the comments I read about his earlier Stones opening shows (2002 I think).

Bottom line: I think Bjornulf would have enjoyed it.

Vocals decent. But not Mick. Best example is 1st song Rocks Off - Mick roars into it, Ryan low key.

Thanks!
I listened up to 3:30 minutes CYHMK, where the song broke into instrumentals, which is a tough ‘part’ to match up but I enjoyed the crescendo to get there, and it’s
evident how much joy the bands having, and rightly so, on the best song maybe ever created. thumbs up

My buddy went and he loved it. I saw the video of CYHMK on Youtube and thought the horns were a fantastic addition. I'd love to hear Soul Survivor and Let It Loose, since the Stones themselves will probably never play them live!

maybe the Stones should do some Ryan Adams songs?

btw.: here's Sweet Virgina performed by Ryan Adams: [www.youtube.com] (much more interesting than the Stones' recent performance of the song)

Really? I love some of Ryan's stuff, but making SV a sort of «indie»-sounding tune didn't work for me.

Btw, here's the most recent version from The Stones:

I could not get past the vocal.
The vocal is MICK JAGGER’S alone.

‘Tis a pity no skeleton key for vocals.

Remember the vocals all you guitar heroes,

1/2 of Exile is MICK JAGGER’S vocals!
