Never realised Jack 'knew George and John Lennon very well'.

Jack Bruce solo material is seriously underrated.

His collaborations with Robin Trower are also pretty good.

I was listening to Jack on bass with Vernon Reid, Cindy Blackman-Santana, and John Medeski, as Spectrum Road, last night. It was one of his final collaborations, and his bass and vocals were excellent on it. I also like his last album, Silver Rails.
