And, I particularly don't like to be addressed here as You People.

To my alien ears that sounds impolite and disrespectful.

Back on topic: Hats off to Charlie. Thanks for all he's done as the RS drummer. And, I must say he doesn't owe us anything.

I wanted to say: He doesn't owe us anything at all.

Basically, Mr Watts is old school - like Mr Richards. Their "geniuses" are from the 40s and 50s. Mostly from the 40s in Charlie's case.
Sir Michael, on the other hand, are more up to date with "modern" music and don't mind following trends or exploring new things.

-Regrettably so.

+ 1 thumbs up

As Keith has said, be careful what you listen to, if you listen to crap music it comes out in your own songwriting.

Poor old Charlie, looks like he is suffering with his back.

At 2:57 Charlie states: "I don't like the songs" when discussing the new songs that were being recorded. Interesting

I love Mr Watts...
but long long ago I stopped taking seriously anything he says to a camera/microphone/reporter.

The fly on the wall listening when Charlie talks to his horses knows better than we ever will.

"I dont write the songs " :-)

always love to hear Charlie's point of view. He really seems to have back problems, or just feeling uncomfy in front of cameras. He always said he hates that part of the job.

56 years of sitting on a drum throne could potentially cause serious back issues...he did have poor posture when he was younger, slouching. He sits very upright nowadays but the damage has probably been done.

Why do people have it in their heads that Charlie suffers from back problems?

We only have Woody's word for it, something he said to a journalist during a rehearsal period a couple years ago.

Anything Ron Wood says should be taken with a gram of salt.

Of course Charlie wouldn't mind if the Stones were to stop -- it doesn't mean the same to him as it does to, say, Keith, for whom it's a way of life. To Charlie, it's just a job.

An interview with Charlie is always good for a laugh -- the Peter Cushing of rock and roll!

It's time for Charlie to get an acting role in Star Wars.

Charlie would make a GREAT Jmaes Bond Villain... not much acting needed...
just look bored.. give orders e.g. KILL BOND NOW! or "No one betrays me, now you die!" as he pushes the button on some killing contraption. I can see him now... Petting his cat horse as he plots something diabolical!!

Actually, he can look menacing at times.

How about....

Dr. Roll
From Wembley With Love
Goldcymbal
Thundersnare
You Only Tour Twice
Live and Let Drum
The Man with the Golden Beat

and so on...

You know, the Peter Cushing analogy also applies careerwise.

Cushing was not particularly a fan of the horror films he starred in. But he was pleased that people liked him in the roles he played, so he kept at it.

Sounds like someone we know of?

Yes he does! .......... "No Mr Bond, I expect you TO DIE!!!

We are on to something here... just do it Charlie! Be the next Bond villain,
show Keef and Mick Teague and Vacendak that they aren't the only ones who can play make believe in the Rolling Stones.

Peter C reply in an interviewer- ""Well ya know, I could really see myself doing something other than this. This was supposed to be just a part time thing, I don't even care much about it, but people seem to enjoy it, so OK, but it would be fine with me if it all ended tomorrow"". grinning smiley

Charlie should tell mick and Keith I’m done. At 76 he looks like he isn’t all interested in their type of tunes.
