Lots of people on Boards.IE saying the Aviva is not an option. Rugby game too close.

yeah it's Croke Park or nothing

another option is Punchestown Racecourse but it's an open field and has no seated areas. It's fits almost the same capacity as Croke Park

Slane castle is ruled out too for unknown reasons

I just ordered my very cheap Scandinavian Airlines direct non-refundable flights to and home from Dublin. I am ready, this show should happen, one way or the other.

That’s the spirit BV. I am looking forward to the Dublin show as well.

Croke Park capacity 80,000 people
This article
[www.irishtimes.com]

Dated Feb. 26 headline ‘150 people show up RS mixed reviews about having concert’
my impatient mind thought 150 verses 80,000
forced myself to read the article
just SOME of the 150 people object
So
<150 people verses 80,000 people

Sir, – It has surely come to a sad pass when people object to a few senior citizens having a sing-song in Dublin. – Yours, etc,

I got a killer deal from the Clayton Ballsbridge website [www.claytonhotelballsbridge.com] early one monday morning a few weeks ago. A little over 120 euro the night, including breakfast, refundable. Havent seen it so cheap since but may be worth checking out from time to time.

Reputationly speaking (in terms of music history) this will prob be the biggest concert Croke Park will ever host. Not in terms of production or attendance (we have yo wait and see)

The guys have been going for almost 60 years, have a string of hits and one of the best live bands of all time. Pure Rock n roll

Booked a changeable flight from Helsinki. If Dublin show doesn't go ahead I will just pay the change fee but save accommodation for the weekend in London and I get to miss the Royal Wedding! winking smiley

Well stuff it, I’ve just booked cheap return flights and Accomodation from Bristol to Dublin. Even if the gig doesn’t go ahead, I’ll still visit as I’ve only visited the city twice previously - 1 overnight stay and a day trip from Belfast. Lovely city and well worth s visit at any time, Stones or not so grabbed some deals while the going’s good, just.

As a warning to everyone else, prices for all types of Accomodation in Dublin are going through the roof wirhout the show even confirmed!

all this worrying about the licence is scary abd i won't relax til the show is confirmed. Have time booked off work and really looking forward to it. Going to Tears for fears in Dublin on the 2nd May (very pale in comparison to the stones) and be so nice to have another show lined up 2 weeks later

As soon as the gig is confirmed, flight prices will rise. Accomodation Costs, even dorm beds are already very high, likely as a result of the Ed Sheeran show there the same week. I booked a return flight from Bristol yesterday (much nearer than you, obviously!) for 28 GBP.

cool but don't read into that much cause Garth Brooks appeared on many tv/radio shows in the lead up to his cancelled CP shows but at least this RS news is very positive

Aiken Promotions still got the Rolling Stones announcement sticky on their facebook page. Even ticketmaster Ireland posted a Rolling Stones @ Croke Park promo video on facebook a few days ago.

It's a pretty big deal tbh and marketing this is top priority

If it's cancelled then Aiken will look like feels once again and those oldie residents will be grinning from ear to ear

Why would Ronnie be on national radio if the show is not a lock?

Is he going to say the show is "subject to license"?
