Me too! If successful, I'll probably have a spare to shift.

Ronnie announcing something that isnt confirmed yet? He doesnt exactly have a good track record for these things

Cant listen in as I'm at work, but I'd imagine that intervew was pre-recorded. Did he say its definitey happening and has been approved?

The council hasnt issued a decision on this, theres absolutely nothing about it on any news wires yet and Aiken Promotions still havent confirmed it as definite on any social media page.

Sounds like Ronnie is either jumping the gun or else has been the only person informed that the gig is 100% going ahead.

Pre-Sale should be on Saint Patrick's Day....Just a Thought!!!

On sale March 23. Presale could be on Monday 19th?

I interpreted it as a done deal. Don't have an on-demand link yet but first off the DJ went like "The worst kept secret of the concert year" or something and Ronnie was like "yeah, happy for Ireland; we're coming to Dublin" etc.

Granted NO mention of a license anywhere.

But:

What mention of "news" to listen to would Aiken have posted on their Facebook if this wasn't the confirmation?

RS.com doesn't have it listed as "subject to licence" anymore.

Satisfied since 1976

The confirmation by the council would be public knowledge if it happened. I doubt the promoters would be leaving it to some vague comment by a musician as an official announcement. If and when it is confirmed, I would imagine that the presale dates will be known right away.

I think its telling that the projected onsale date is so late - 23rd March, especially as its the first show, the one with the most tickets to sell and 3 weeks after the rest of the tour got confirmed. That suggests to me that the ruling on whether it can go ahead would be very near the pre-sale date. It makes no sense to confirm a show on, say, 9th or 10th March, and then not put the tickets on sale for another 10-14 days.

For that reason I'd be surprised if we hear any confirmation before the end of next week.

Weird. On the front page it still says 'subject to licence' but on the tickets page it appears to be a done deal.

Confusing, but certainly a more positive development

(maybe theyve been told unofficially its going ahead!)

You'd think both the Stones and the promoter would release a definitive statement on this

The Ticket-page looked like this already on 26-Feb-2018: [iorr.org] ....

I have searched various media sites since the interview was aired. There is no mention anywhere of the granting of a licence so far. The interview was framed as though it was a done deal but clearly it isn’t as yet.

Same here. There should be at least a Tweet on Twitter or a News via Google, but there's absolutely silence yet on all media about the confirmation ....

Think we can all go back to sleep for a little while longer. Glad this is one show that I dont have to book a flight to as the wait could prove expensive!

Ticketmaster.ie has that posted since the gig was announced. It means nothing.

I just ordered my very cheap Scandinavian Airlines direct non-refundable flights to and home from Dublin. I am ready, this show should happen, one way or the other.

"one way or the other"
From one who chooses their words very carefully, I gotta think with there's a solid back-up plan ready to announce as soon as decision is made, if it's a no.

I also made plans based on that post by BV.

If Croke isn't on maybe they'll just pitch up in a farmer's field in the middle of nowhere and play there grinning smiley.
