Yes, excellent album although please don't remind me of 'Let's work' on TOTP.......(hide behind the sofa moment.........

Could do with a re-release but with Let's work' re-recorded (ok Gaslight? .... grinning smiley) ......... and renamed 'Let's Twerk'...............smoking smiley

Party Doll is easily as good as any Stones country song even Faraway Eyes which is my favourite.............

Hi,

i think there are really good songs on it,
but back then in the eighties building my opinion of an album was very influenced by the lp-cover, so while listening to the songs i had this cover in mind.

without thinking of this stupid cover the album got good songs, i like "say you will", "shoot off your mouth" and "party doll".

i always wished this album would have a better cover.

and choosing "let's work" for a video to promote this album was a desaster !

Does some rough versions from studio's rehearsals exist ? I never see something other than the commercial one.

It didn't make the album (or a Stones album),but...

Perhaps the only way it's underrated is because it's not Mick's first solo album, which was a huge stink, publicly, as well as its being, and it's better than the first one, overall, because it's produced better. Would've been a really good EP as:

Throwaway
Say You Will
Peace For The Wicked
Kow Tow

Is there any CD release of the circulating PC-outtakes?

Always considered it Mick's best album. Love Kow Tow and Shoot off Your Mouth in particular.

I also love Party Doll, it's such a great song!

Radio Control was one I always liked too, i may be a loner on that one, no one brings that up.

Gangster's Moll would have been a great one to replace Let's Work

No, no, no, I liked that too.........great bit of social commentary, although it might have been more accurately called TV control ....

Easily my least favorite solo LP by anyone in the band. I have tried and tried to listen to it over the years and literally skip through songs after 60 seconds.

And, yes, the cover should be in the top five all-time horrendous artistic choices for album art. Lordy!

Agree.

It's about as useful as a slap in the face.

Yeah, better than Wandering Spirit which I don't dislike. And 100x better than She's The Boss or Dogshit In The Doorway.

Some ups and downs ....but no , it's not underrated. And the stronger tracks are killed by this 80's production. A general "Mick" problem: when you wanna have a flashy production it sounds dated very soon.

No, it's overrated, primitive shit pop.

Re: Primitive cool Underrated Album ?

It would be interesting to hear the whole album with Jagger just singing and playing the songs with a guitar.
The production alone is so overwhelming and brutal, and also really, really bad that it taints the songs to the point of being unrecognizable.
That is one issue.
But even taken on bare-bones, some of the songs are weak. The lyrics are too much. The producers had not come around yet to embrace the grittier approach; no one checked him. He was able to run rampant. Like Cartman getting his very own amusement park.

And acoustic Say You Will would be interesting to hear.
